These are a solid quality bike glove. Comfortable, wrap sleekly around the contours of the hand, make you feel agile just by wearing them.

So Far So Good
I'v only had these gloves for a short period, but I've already crashed on 'em. I somehow smacked an embedded rock(which is the primary terrain my favorite trail/descent is composed of) with the back of my hand during the crash, and while my knuckles were sore for a couple of days, the gloves themselves held up fine.
Alpinestars has a mediocre reputation in the MTB community due to a lot of complaints that their gear doesn't hold up for long, which is why I wrote 'so far'. IMO however, considering the type of impact they went through while attached to me, I came away from it feeling very confident in my purchase.
FWIW, the fit was spot-on for the size(XL)
I've owned Alpinestars gear for 20+ years, which reminds me.
Hey Whitlp.. You see MotoGP riders wearing Alpinestars gear because they made motorcycle protection LONG before they started making it for bicycling.
They got into 4-wheel racing after a long stint of sewing their logos on the gear worn by their sponsored drivers.
Instead of letting your feelings get hurt because you thought YOU were the only one wearing Alpinestars, you need to A) Thank the MX and motorcycle road racing community for buying Alpinestars stuff to begin with(and get over the fact that YOU weren't their first customer), -and- B) thank those who ride MX, street ride, road race, and race 4-wheel vehicles that purchase Alpinestars gear.
Mountain bike apparel(never mind MTB gloves)accounts for a VERY small percentage of their overall sales.
They couldn't survive on the amount of money mountain bike gear brings in. They COULD however, survive on MX/Streetbike gear-and for a while they did-.
MTB gear simply adds to their portfolio and credibility as a serious manufacturer of protective gear.

Great glove, comfortable, durable
AlpineStars has always meant quality, tough mountain bikes to me, have an old skule Cro-Mega. However, I constantly see AS products such as gloves on NASCAR, F1 and MotoGP competitors. My previous Pearl Izumi gloves had worn out so bought AS this time out and am not disappointed. Comfortable, durable, stylish. Buy one size bigger though, L in Pearl Izumi equals XL for AS. Recommended.
