The Arisun Big Fatty Wire Bead Tire is a budget conscious tire for those who also want to keep some spending money in their pockets. At a 26x4.9 size, this tire is designed to provide maximum float and traction in snowpack, sand and other terrain where only Fat Bikes dare to enter.
I have made this tire - the 4.9" 30tpi wire bead version - the one standard tire across my four fat ebikes. The thick rubber won't win any weight weenie awards but for a daily commuter tire that you want to work in 90% of the conditions you may encounter, these are the ones. There is a not-especially-aggressive knob pattern on these tires that provides surprisingly good rolling resistance and this is good for dry street commuting. When its wet, there is enough tread articulation to keep the tires planted firmly. Going off road and onto uneven ground - grass and packed trails, wet or dry - the knobs are good enough to give you no cause for concern. Fluffy construction site dirt is just as easily managed. Its a good-enough tire that will not win races but will get you across whatever is between Point A and B. But where these tires really shine for a commuter is their flat resistance, which comes in part from the 30tpi casing. I consider these tires to be tank treads. Over literally a couple thousand miles I had no flats until recently (when, of course, I got two one right after the other). They are not impregnable but they absolutely turn nails one hell of a lot better than any other tire I have tried. Ad to this they wear hard and they are cheap... for a daily rider of a heavy fat ebike these tires are perfect.
Was sideline by bald tires on my Fat Bike. Initially attracted by price. I paid twice as much for another brand only to have them last about 7 months before going bald. So far, I have 800 miles on these tire since New Year with minimum signs of wear. They have handled great through mud and snow, and confidently through corners. They ride very comfortably.
So i bought these for the most obvious reason...cost. But i am very pleased with the tread design! They should be a great tire for everything but deep snow, still need a wider chunky tire if you want ride in the snow.. but that said, i ride my fatty all year and these handle the wet roots and ice better then my originals tires, plus catching a break with less rolling resistance is welcomed!! cheers.
