Comments about Avid Elixir 7 Disc Brake:

These brakes were a major upgrade from the stocker Tektros that came on my bike. i put bigger rotors on which coupled with the more powerful calipers and more ergonomic levers, has made what for me is the perfect brakeset. loads of feel so you can use the whole range of the power, not just stomping and sliding. they look trick and the carbon levers are an added swag bonus.

Comments about Avid Elixir 7 Disc Brake:

I installed them with a matchmaker and Sram shifters so they take up very little space on my handlebar which is great.
I have had one problem when the front wheel clamped up in the middle of a ride and I had to reset it as best I could then and there.
Aside from that episode they've been great and work effortlessly and give you great control over your brakes especially in tricky downhills.

Comments about Avid Elixir 7 Disc Brake:

Great Product. Good brake feel and loads of stopping power. My only complaint after riding them for a year is that the howl when the rotors are wet. They are very durable, they have survived two Winters of commuting with a problem. I would recommend these brakes to anyone. They are that good.

Comments about Avid Elixir 7 Disc Brake:

Upgraded to these from the Shimano 445's that came stock on my C'dale. After hunting around for reviews and doing tons of research I believe I made the best choice.
I installed them easily myself (use a torque wrench!)and the tri-align system worked on the first try for the front, but took a bit of fiddling for the rear.
The reach adjust is fantastic, just dial it in.
They're also nice and light and look great (grey color).
I don't ride DH but XC they are just awesome.
Best brakes for the money IMO.
