Niner Carbon Rigid 29" Fork

Niner Carbon Rigid 29" Fork

Carbon rigid forks aren’t only riding on pavement! Niner’s signature Carbon Forks are carefully built with from the ground up, utilizing carbon in ways that no other mountain bike fork manufacturer has done before. From the tip of the dropout to the top of the steerer tube, and every millimeter in between, Niner Carbon Forks focus on utilizing the dampening characteristics of carbon fiber to its full potential to provide a smoother, controlled ride, while enabling the responsiveness in which suspension forks lack. The Niner Carbon forks come in both tapered (1.125-1.5”) and 1 1/8” carbon steerer tubes, and fit up to 185mm rotors.

Best upgrade for the hardtail
Turn my hardtail into a speed demon. Handles quicker, climbs like a banshee. Descending is great if you pick a good line.

Great way to go if you want rigid
I love this fork, I've never used anything that was carbon on my bike and I was very surprised at how light weight it actually was. I put it on a 29 cannondale with 2.25 tires and the ride is great.

Quality fork that supports QR
Has a really nice glossy finish on the carbon. If you're still enjoying a QR wheelset but looking to upgrade the fork, grab this while you can.

Great Fork
I installed this on my Ventana El Comandante Ultimate, and now have the ultimate single speed. Light, stiff, and sucks up the bumps. Not like suspension, but as much as I need most of the time.

It goes without say, " this fork is awesome "
I ordered this over a holiday weekend, next thing I know, I've got an email that it shipped and it was here by the end of the week. Fast shipping, packed incredibly well, and I the whole order was correct.

This fork is awesome! I installed it in place of a 100mm Reba on my Niner Air9 Carbon and dropped a bit over 2 lbs. The steering is instant and precise, the fork really has a nice ride- much less harsh than one would expect from a rigid carbon fork, the bike screams up climbs, and turns riding singletrack and rock gardens into a much more interactive experience. You ride the bike instead of picking an ok line and counting on a squish fork to get you through.

Will the tapered steerer version fit my current bike? I have a GT Zaskar Alloy Comp 2016 27.5er currently running RockShox 30 Gold TK 27.5 Solo Air, 100mm.
A shopper on Jan 15, 2017
BEST ANSWER: From GT's website the tapered head tube on your bike matches the tapered steerer on the fork (Tapered 1 1/8" to 1 1/2" HT). Since the Niner fork is designed for a 29" wheel and your RockShox is designed for 27.5 you might find the front end sitting up a little taller, but you can possibly compensate with a flatter bar and fewer spacers.
Includes expander?
A shopper on Jan 29, 2017
If you mean the expander nut for inside the steer tub.
Then yes it does.
What is the widest tire you can fit on this fork? And what is the chance that it won't fit on my bike?
Bryan on Dec 14, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I am running a 2.2 Maxxis Ikon on mine, but there is room for wider for sure. I will be going 2.4 shortly.
The steer tube is tapered and extra long. I would confirm your bike's headset setup prior to ordering to ensure the sizing is right. You would likely need to trim the steer tube to fit(I had a shop do it as I was not comfortable cutting it myself.
How different is the geometry on this vs a cyclo-cross fork?
Strongly considering using this on my cyclocross.
Is this going to be odd geometry/feel when using on road?
Dennis A on Dec 18, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The Niner rigid fork is to replace a suspension fork on a MTB. The length of the Niner fork is adjusted to accommodate a fork with 100 mm of travel. The Niner fork has a crown to axle distance of ~ 475mm, while the rigid fork on my CX bike is only 405mm. Hence, the Niner fork wouldn't fit your cyclocross bike.
I'm looking to put this on my bike, my tires are 700c , the crown to axle length is perfect. Currently the width between my forks go accommodate my tire is roughly 4.25in or 55.8mm. Would this work? Also my steering tube is 1 1/8 threadless.
Any knowledge would help I'm kind of a noobie
Ryan G on Dec 31, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The question is a little confusing, I am guessing you mean 2.25" (instead of 4.25"). The tire clearance would be fine, this will clear at least a 2.4" 29er tire with room to spare. However, this will not work on a headtube with a straight 1 1/8", as this fork has a 1 1/8"-1 1/2" tapered steerer. If you have a 44mm headtube, you can replace the lower cup to accept a tapered steerer though.
Any problem using cane creek 40 (1 1/8") headset ?
A shopper on Jan 12, 2017
BEST ANSWER: As long as it's an 1-1/8 1-1/4 tapered headset. This is not a straight 1-1/8 steer tube. Need to have a tapered head tube
What crown race do I need to use with the headset that comes with the Niner Air 9 Carbon frame?
Brad. on Jan 10, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The fork did not come with a headset. It has the internal compression nut and stem cap though. The crown race should come included with the headset you purchase.
Do you still have it in your stock ?
Romero on Jun 27, 2017
I have a 2015 Salsa Fargo. The Axle to crown length is 483 mm. What effect would the shorter Niner fork have?
