Comments about Continental Double Fighter II Tire:

Good quality tire. Tread is smooth in the center for paved and small gravel trail surfaces. Edges of tires have traction lugs to provide for some traction on irregular surfaces,IE;off-road. This tread pattern is not useful for heavy off paved or gravel trail use requiring a high traction tire pattern. Not good for muddy areas on paved paths.

Comments about Continental Double Fighter II Tire:

Maybe I had low expectations to begin with, but I am impressed with this tire.

I bought this tire for the off-season when I do more street rides than trails, but my first two rides with this tire involved riding a muddy trail. Obviously not being a super-grippy mud tire, these tires actually did good enough in most areas I went through. Slick climbs need a little finesse, but I didn't have too many issues there. Sloppy mud is (almost)never fun to ride through, but the small knobs found traction and pulled me through anyway.

These tires are great for street riding and hardpack that isn't too gnarly, but kind of narrow to be using on the rough stuff. They also don't like loose sand.

I found 40psi to work well for me, up from my usual 26 to 32 psi on wider tires.

All-in-all, I'd say these tires are a good buy if you ride on street with the occasional jaunt on the local singletrack.

      Great urban trail tire

Comments about Continental Double Fighter II Tire:

I ride an equal mix of asphalt, dirt, and concrete trails to/from work. This tire is a near perfect compromise for that mix. The small center knobs are smooth on pavement but give a critical bit of grip on rough concrete and dirt. The side knobs let you lean into turns in looser stuff. One complaint: I have to deal with ledges and curbs, so I'd prefer a bit more volume than this tire's 1.9". Also, the graphics are straight out of the 80s. Gross.
