Bronze Professional Bicycle Assembly by Jenson USA
Every bicycle sold by Jenson USA includes free assembly by our trained mechanics prior to shipment. The build level will vary based on the bike you select and is identical to the quality work we perform on bicycles sold in-person at our physical locations.
Our Bronze Build is ideal for bicycles that arrive to Jenson USA in "Dealer Ready" condition (this is the same way that bikes arrive to your local bike shop from most major brands - about 90% pre-assembled, but not quite ready to ride). When you select our Bronze build, we will open the manufacturer's box, remove your bike, and place it on a workstand for tuning. This is the "last 10%" that turns a "Dealer Ready" bike into a ready to ride bike. We'll then partially disassemble your bike so that it fits back in the shipping container. Upon arrival, you'll need to unpack and then perform some basic re-assembly tasks to get your new bike ready to ride.
Our Bronze build includes:
Unpacking and Assembling your new bike
Every bike is slightly diferent, but you will likely need to:
This video illustrates a typical reassembly. While a Rocky Mountain bike is pictured, most bicycles share a common assembly process regardless of brand.
Getting Help
If you need any guidance to complete assembly, please don't hesistate to contact us. We employ only bicycle experts on our customer support team and they are standing by to assist you.
Caring for your new bike
Every bicycle, from $10 to $10,000 needs ongoing care and maintenance. Cables stretch, brake pads wear, etc. 30 days is a good "break-in" period for most riders. If you're local to Jenson USA, please bring your bike back to us for a complimentary 30-day safety check and tune-up. Not nearby? Don't worry, even just doing the basics will enhance performance and extend the lifespan of your new bike:

I found this service to be extremely convenient and was pleased to find out that it was included at no charge. When i recieved my bike, all that had to be done was to install the front wheel, seat post and handlebar. My one big concern was if the brakes had been bled correctly. So far i havent had anything come loose or lost beak pressure. The gears are well adjusted and the bike is extremely lean. Thanks to the bike bulders at JensonUSA.

This was a free service that was included with the purchase of the bike. Good thing too, cause if I would have paid for this I certainly would have been dissappointed. I expected to do a few things out of the box but when I discovered mistakes with some of the pre-assembled parts (like the forks being installed backwards) I didn't trust the assembly so I had to go through and check each part. Good thing I did since I found other mistakes as well. If you're going to advertise a "professional build" then I'd think the bike should reflect that.

Comments about Bike Build - Bronze Level Assembly:
The complimentary bronze assembly that came with the bike sale was very helpful. Otherwise, I would have to spend hours trying to build the bike from scratch. The only con I experienced was that the gears were not calibrated. I had to go to my local bike shop to have them recalibrated. Overall, the assembly was near perfect.

Comments about Bike Build - Bronze Level Assembly:
The service saves a decent deal of time. As it said everything was tuned when I got the bike. The only issues I found were a few components were not torqued, thus they came lose during my 1st 10 miles of riding. However, EVERYTHING WAS TUNED and that saves time. So if the builder had taken a little more time I would have given this 5 stars.
I checked gift b/c this service was offerred free w/purchase of a bike I purchased in early 2011.
Comments about Bike Build - Bronze Level Assembly:
The service mentioned bike would be assembled when shipped. It was not. In fact, it took over an hour to assemble; including wheels, handlebars, breaks, seat, pedals, etc. I'm not sure what you considered 'assembled'.
Comments about Bike Build - Bronze Level Assembly:
My Focus Izalco Pro is a real nice bike and it came with this free Bronze Build. Hard for me to believe a real bike mechanic actually did the build. First ride out the FD pushed the chain to the outside and off the 53T chainring. That shouldn't happen. Then.... on the small chainring and larger cog combos, the chain was just scaping against the inside chain drop catcher. Such obvious errors, so easily resolved. It made me think that my bike was not fresh out of the box. It made me think that my bike had already been assembled (and maybe even used as a demo) and by offering that Free Bike Build, it was Jenson's way of explaining away why I received a bike that had already been assembled. My advise.... never take the bike build. Have it delivered to you in a sealed box and have your LBS assemble and fit you to the frame.

I have to tune the all bike on my local shop
Comments about Bike Build - Bronze Level Assembly:
Cut rear brake line way to short. Can hardly turn handlebars to my right. When doing so the cable pulls on the rear brake lever and binds against the head tube. Seems at least six inches too short. When I emailed CS they told me it was do to frame size and was a manufacturer issue. Frame size, really? I did not know there was more than a six inch difference in bike lenghts from sizw s(S) to (XL). When I contacted manufacturer they told me brake lines are not pre-cut and that the bike shop probably made the error. Nobody takes the blame but it seems to me it was Jensons assembly people who made the error. Now I am going to be out 70 bucks for there so called free assembly. My advice do it yourself if you want it done correctly and want to save yourself the headache of replacing new bike parts.

I was present when the whole process of tuning was being done and I had to shelve out an extra $50 to tune the bike. The break pads were uneven. Cables were not tight..They're actually loose. Chain jumps while changing gear. We tought the culprit was the chain but it was actually the cassette. It was also loose, significantly. Care to reimburse me?

Comments about Bike Build - Bronze Level Assembly:
I purchased a bike that came with a free bike build. There were a couple of minor issues: chain needed a link removed, dérailleur needed tuning, hydraulic brake needed to be bled, mechanical issue with brake that needed warranty replacement. However, Jenson USA was awesome in quickly meeting my needs. Their customer service was excellent. They also took care of a warranty issue swiftly.
