Gold Professional Bicycle Assembly by Jenson USA

Every bicycle sold by Jenson USA includes free assembly by our trained mechanics prior to shipment. The build level will vary based on the bike you select and is identical to the quality work we perform on bicycles sold in-person at our physical locations.

When you select our Gold Build, you'll receive our highest-level and most thorough assembly service. A typical Gold Build takes 4-6 hours to complete. This level of service is ideal for bicycles and build kits that arrive to Jenson USA as completely bare frames and parts. We will inspect your new frame, assemble, and tune all components, then partially disassemble it so that it fits in the shipping container. Upon arrival, you'll need to unpack and then perform some basic re-assembly tasks to get your new bike ready to ride.

Our Gold Build includes:

• Ground-up build starting with a bare frame, full prep, assembly, and tune - our highest level of service.
• General inspection
• Tune/adjust shifting
• Tune/adjust brakes
• True wheels
• Hydraulic brake lines shortened, as needed
• Specify a custom-cut length on steerer tube (available on most bicycles)
• Installation of any accessories you purchase along with your bike
• Ability to include your own custom instructions or parts (for example: setting up brakes "moto style" with the left lever operating the rear brake - the opposite of the normal USA standard, adding tubeless tire sealant, changing suspension fork spring weights)
• Trade-ins available (example: upgrade to a different suspension fork than the one included with a build kit, or switch to a favorite saddle). Unpacking and Assembling your new bike

Every bike is slightly diferent, but you will likely need to:

• Install the pedals
• Install the front wheel
• Straighten, then tighten in place the handlebar stem
• Install the seatpost and adjust to height
• Set tires (and air suspension, if applicable) to your preferred pressure

This video illustrates a typical reassembly. While a Rocky Mountain bike is pictured, most bicycles share a common assembly process regardless of brand.

Caring for your new bike

Every bicycle, from $10 to $10,000 needs ongoing care and maintenance. Cables stretch, brake pads wear, etc. 30 days is a good "break-in" period for most riders. If you're local to Jenson USA, please bring your bike back to us for a complimentary 30-day safety check and tune-up. Not nearby? Don't worry, even just doing the basics will enhance performance and extend the lifespan of your new bike:

• Always inflate tires to their proper pressure
• Clean and lubricate your chain on a regular basis
• Sloppy shifting? You may need to take the slack out of a cable that has stretched, a 60-second repair. Our partners at Park Tool have a great illustrated guide for this procedure.
