Bionicon C-Guide V.02

The Bionicon C-Guide v.02 is the perfect solution to dropped chains. Winner of the 2010 Eurobike Design award and the 2011 Bike and Freeride Milestone Award, the Bionicon C-Guide V02 (version2) is now available at Jenson USA. The split design of the Bionicon allows easy installation without needing to break your chain or removing cables. The pivoting tube keeps things quieter by following the chain line better. The Bionicon C-Guide V.02 Chainguide reinforces the "good things come in small package" notion. Mount the Bionicon chainguide and enjoy the ride!
  • Weight: <20g
  • New tube design features a pivot that helps follow the chainline better with 2 and 3 chainrings.

Awesome product, Kinda pricey, but works great. JensonUSA offered the best price! After install there was no more chain slap, plus its super light. I havnt noticed any chain drag or noise either. Its really nice not having the sounds of the chain slamming everything, plus it helps to prevent derailing. Even though it easy to install, finding a good spot for it was kind of limited due to the chainstay/swing arm on my Fezzari. Due to the chainstay/swing arm angle vs. the chain angle, the chain goes though at an angle, not straight. This may not apply to all bikes, But you do have the option of flipping the rub block four ways to extend its life. It is an awesome product and I am gonna put one on every bike I get.

I put this on my Mukluk hoping to stop chain stuck issues. It ran fine all winter (regardless of snow type and temp), but this spring it didn't perform well in the mud. The mud tore chunks off the plastic guide and tore the whole unit/cable off the chain stay that it was cable tied to. Bottom line: It did help some with the chain stuck issue and it is OK for non mud uses, but for serious year around single track use, it's not the answer.

I can now ride in silence! Truly makes a difference on the trail when your chain is hopping all over the place when you want to topple those roots and rocks.

The area I ride is very technical with loads of transitions from grinding ups to fast technical downs. This little guide does a great job on my Ellsworth Rogue of quieting down the drive train and making sure my chain stays where it belongs.

            Very nice look

Seemed to work well on the first ride - Second ride the mount broke. It seems the system would work better with a metal mount.

Gets the job done, quiet, you cant hit it if you hit your bashguard like a regular chain tensioner. The only thing I dont like is that the last one only lasted 2 months (15 rides), I ride agressive all mountain and I think its to much for it, they should build an all mountain model, 45g for this, I can afford 90g for a little more durability.

Still have chain drop with this guide. I run a 1x9. Instructions don't tell you how close to the chain ring to place the guide. I have moved it as close a possible and the chain still drops. I wanna believe that it works.

Works exactly as advertised and makes chainslap very minimal. Took about five minutes to install on both mine and my dad's bikes. Only problem was my dad's stumpy had cable routing under the chainstay which the guide has a mount option for but the cables were too thick to fit in the mount housing. Ended up using the not cable routing mount option and it worked fine though just weird that they didn't account for different cable widths. Minor flaw and would still recommend to anyone who has a multi ring crankset and needs a good guide to reduce slap.
