I am extremely disappointed in SRAM. The drive-side bearing has a plastic cover which moves outward towards the crank arm leaving the bearing exposed to dust and dirt, water and mud. This results in removing the cranks after each ride, re-greasing and fitting the plastic part. On my BB the moving away from the bearing caused around 1mm (thickness of the plastic) of play between the BB and the crank's "thru-pipe".This had the effect that the driveside bearing was receiving the pedal force at an angle (in my non-mechanical opinion) and the bearing is now "Shot/seized/useless", this is after less than two months. Poor finishing. I've used the previous version for 3 years doing around 4000 miles of All Mountain/Freeride riding which served its purpose beyond expectation. I hope this is not a sign of quality being sacraficed due to quantity...

Comments about Sram/Truvativ Team GXP Bottom Bracket:

I have an older SRAM Truvativ Stylo Crankset that was chewing through Shimano BBs on my DB Mission 3. The SRAM GXP seems to be the right combination for this crankset and is operating smoothly after 30+ miles of mountain riding, including creek crossings, mud, and dry silty conditions.
Only drawback, possibly specific to my bike, is that I have to service the BB frequently after creek crossing rides due to creaking from the BB. Once cleared of debris, no problems.

Easy to install, like the GXP system where no bearing preload is needed. Wish it came in black, was the only drawback.

Hello i just bought one of these bottom brackets and it wont fit in my 2012 rocky mountain slayer 50. However i tried multiple other bottom brackets and they all fit in the frame. This bottom bracket also fits in different frames so i do not know what the problem is.
