Comments about Hayes Stroker Ace Disc Brake:

brought this for the front of my Glory (to replace the Juicy 5 :( was so impressed as soon as i looked at it. As soon as i fitted it, as i live on a big hill I rode down a few times to bed in. By the fith time it was trying to throw me over the bars! Awesome. With one finger it has all the stopping power I need and more. I have only ridden with it two times, but the second was a wet muddy day, and it performed superbly, so I have now brought the rear to match.

Comments about Hayes Stroker Ace Disc Brake:

Overkill for trail riding, but at the bike park (Highland) simply awesome. I never wish for more power on my 35 pound park/trail bike.

Also, I never had modulation like this before.
I have had older Hayes (Mag, 9 HD) and those were on and off. These puppies allow me the ultimate control while riding wheelies and prevent unwanted lockups.

Comments about Hayes Stroker Ace Disc Brake:

I've had this particular set of Stroker Aces on two bikes now and I couldn't be happier. They're powerful, have great modulation, and have held up to season after season of abuse. I haven't had to bleed them yet, though now after thousands of miles of trail they could use it.

Only two gripes- the Hayes semi-met and sintered pads wear really quickly, and sometimes pad installation on the rear caliper can be a pain. It's like the new pads are ever-so-slightly too thick. Once the new pads are in there you have to jam a feeler gauge in between the pad & rotor and pump the lever to set the air gap, and even then they seem to rub until you wear the pads down a bit.

Comments about Hayes Stroker Ace Disc Brake:

I highly recommend this brake! It has been hands down the most powerful brake I have ever used. My first FR bike weighed about 43 lbs, and these puppies stopped it on a dime! Powerful modulation and never heat up. And they don't get annoying and squeaky, which I also love after my Juicy 3's. If you need a super powerful brake at a good price, this is the direction to go.

Comments about Hayes Stroker Ace Disc Brake:

Xlnt choice for a dual piston caliper brake set. I put a set on a 2009 Kona and it stops very well. Had it for 2 years now, no problems. Although had to order new pads (LBS didn't stock them) that was my only hassle to these, highly recommend for any XC trail/freeride bike.
