Wolf Tooth chainrings are made in the USA from 7075 aluminum and feature Wolf Tooth's signature Drop-Stop tooth design that is intended to resist chain drop when used with a 1x drivetrain. No more dropped chains and the pure simplicity of a 1x drivetrain is made possible with these well built, reliable rings. Convert your current set up or simply upgrade your existing 1x ring, you won't be disappointed.

Comments about Wolf Tooth Components Wolf Tooth 104 BCD Chainring:
the setup- 1999 klein attitude frame with 2x10 shimano drivetrain; m785 xt crankset, m771 xt 10-speed cog enhanced with a 40t extender from one-up component; m786 xt rear derailleur; m985 xtr front derailleur; m980 xtr shifters; and xt hubs with mavic 221 rims.
yes, it's a an old bike, but what's a better way to revive it with than with a 1x10 setup? they say less is more, and in this case, it is very true.
i went with the 30T 104bcd chainring from wolf tooth components for the 1x10 setup. after spending sometime with the m785 crankset, i found the sweet spots for my trail riding conditions. i checked/verified with the ratio gains (search sheldon gear ratios, a lot of knowledge there!) for the gears that i spent most time with and selected correspondingly to thechainring size for my riding style. between the 30T and 32T, i went with the 30T, because i know there are a lot of climbs out here and i don't speed much on pavement. also the 30T DID NOT REQUIRED washers between the m785 crank and chainring to resolve interference issues with the chain and crank spider arms (read wolf tooth pdf on this for the m785 crankset). HOWEVER, the 30T DOES required the 10mm chainring bolts for proper installation... only needed the bolts, the threads are machined into the chainring for the 30T model. BTW, the head of the torx bolts on the m785 chainring is a T30 (good to have prior to start of project, otherwise frustration will set in and no amount of beers is going to help).
the verdict? AWESOMENESS! Most definitely AWESOME! the bike reduced some amount of weight from the lack of the shifter, cabling, front derailleur, and excess chainring. it has simplified my shifting and allowed me to focus on the trail rather than on what front/rear gear combination for the next transistion.
