Charge Bikes Plug 4 Bike 2016

All About the Experience.

Based in the leafy hills of Somerset, England you will find Charge Bike engineers and designers that are infused with passion and curiosity for all things bikes. Charge goes against the grain and streamlines bicycle design in order to suit function. Each product in their lineup is a piece of innovation that breeds joy and furthers the culture of cycling.

Yes, there is no doubt about it; the Plug 4 is a simple bike with a lot of nice features that shape your cycling experience. Charge went for lightweight yet sturdy no-nonsense 6061-aluminum when revamping the Plug 4 frame. Whether you decide to bikepack around or commute to your local coffee shop, the rack and fender mounts will come in handy for the extra baggage and sloppy wet weather. While the frame is durable and practical for everyday use, the carbon straight blade fork helps reduce road chatter adding extra comfort to your ride.

The Plug 4 is built with a trusty Shimano 11-speed drivetrain. Shimano 105 shifters and derailleurs offer responsive shifting while the Shimano RS500 compact crank keeps you spinning. When you apply the brakes, the Render R calipers bring pristine braking power with 160mm rotors. Charge paired the Plug 4 to roll on the tubeless ready Alex Draw 1.9 disc rims laced to their own Charge Lite hubs. For 2016, Charge opted to wrap the wheelset with wider Maxxis Roamer tires, 42c wide to be exact with a custom skinwall. Keep your mind churning with adventures because the Plug 4 is game.

Great price, Great Gravel bike
I needed something to keep me pedaling through the times when trails are closed. I didn't want to spend alot of money. This bike has been fantastic! I've been riding it on mixed Gravel and Roads from my house. The bike was packaged well and went together really well. Wheels were true. The drive train shifted well out of the box but needed some tweaking after the first few rides which is pretty normal for any bike. Needed a little adjustment on the brakes. I've put about 350 miles on it in the last 4 weeks since it arrived. It is very comfortable and stable at speed. At the sale price you can't find anything out there with this component package that even comes close. The only issue that I've had is that I set up the wheels tubeless and the Maxxis tires that come with the bike don't seem to be seating completely. They hold air fine for a few days and hold while riding, but within a few days they will lose pressure or leak some of the sealant. I do tubeless on all my Mountain bikes and have no problems. The tires may be too wide for the rims. I will be trying some new narrower tires. Perfect bike for what I needed.

Good value, fun ride
Delivery was quick. I am still disappointed in Jenson's lack of attention to the wheels being out of true / out of round.

Great Bike????
I've never bought a road bike before but I got to say this is an amazing bike! I've only had it for a week but my commutes around town have been much quicker and I have gotten a ton of conplements. Time will tell if there are any problems but as of now no complaints! I would recommend buying some other pedals though not a fan of the ones they come with.
