Installed on my S-Works FSR frame in 2002. After a decade the cups are still flawless and the bearings are still perfect. I've never had such a great headset ever. Bar none I can not think of a better brand out there. Granted CK headsets are quite pricy but well worth it in the long run.

I purchased this headset after my FSA headset bearings wore out. I bought it after being told how when you buy any Chris King product you will never have to replace it again. I ride a 29" bike and after about a year I have started to notice that the headset loosens occasionally. When it starts to creak and pop around, I take it apart, clean it and tighten, it works great for a week then starts again. Chris King has indiated that it is definetely not the headset, althought I have talked to 2 of my friends who have the identical headset on a 29 inch bike and have had similar results. Not totally dispointed but probably not worth spending over $100 more than I spent on the FSA headset that never loosened or creaked.

I have the same purple headset I bought in 199X - It was on a purple Nishiki Alien...I bought the threadless adapter... and it is now on its 5th bicycle. Now it rides on the single speed 29er. I have never even added lube.... All cycling products should be build this well..

After replacing pretty much everything else on my bike I gave in to my friend's suggestion and went for a Chris King headset. I've only had it a month but it does FEEL excellent. That said, all of my other headsets were fine. But if this Chris King is as solid and durable as people say, I'll be happy.
