Chris King 1 1/8" NoThreadSet Bold

Chris King designed the first sealed bearing headset in 1976. Thirty-four years later, the King headset remains a benchmark for quality. No other bicycle component can claim the precision, performance and absolute reliability of a Chris King headset. At Chris King Precision Components, they manufacture each headset in their own facility to exacting standards, using quality-at-the-source methods to minimize waste. Even the sealed, cartridge style bearings are made in-house and are hand-checked.

Whether you are on the road or in the dirt, Chris King’s classic NoThreadSet is an iconic addition to your bike. The NoThreadSet has seen glory underneath world cup XC racers, gravity riders, and has even ridden into Paris under the Yellow Jersey.

Can't go Wrong
I have the same purple headset I bought in 199X - It was on a purple Nishiki Alien...I bought the threadless adapter... and it is now on its 5th bicycle. Now it rides on the single speed 29er. I have never even added lube.... All cycling products should be build this well..

Spend the cash - you get what you pay...

ultimate set & forget smooth performance
The Chris King headset, which I installed in my first mountain bike build, has proven itself through years of hard riding in harsh conditions, including multiple crashes (even being hit by an SUV), to be an invaluable investment, providing consistent performance year after year. It is truly money well spent when included in the parts list of any high quality bike build.

PROS: Reliable, Attractive Design, Durable, Low Maintenance

BEST USES: Racing, Upgrade, Mountain Biking, Road Biking

It's Chris King, what more can be said.
Best bike component company out there. Everything they sell is top notch. I have never had an issue with anything I have bought with the name Chris King. I installed a CK Headset because I know it will be durable, I know it will give me years of reliable service w/o a single complaint. How do I know this? B/c I have 3 bikes now with CK, 1 being a 94 GT Zaskar. It is as smooth today as the day it was installed.

Simply the best
Installed on my S-Works FSR frame in 2002. After a decade the cups are still flawless and the bearings are still perfect. I've never had such a great headset ever. Bar none I can not think of a better brand out there. Granted CK headsets are quite pricy but well worth it in the long run.

PROS: Smooth, Durable, Quality finish

The last thing I upgraded on my bike.
After replacing pretty much everything else on my bike I gave in to my friend's suggestion and went for a Chris King headset. I've only had it a month but it does FEEL excellent. That said, all of my other headsets were fine. But if this Chris King is as solid and durable as people say, I'll be happy.

PROS: Reliability, Looks neat

So smooth, super bling. It's worth shelling out for a quality component like this because it lasts, and is the smoothest headset out there. Period.

Not necessary but neither are haircuts.
You can cut your own hair so why pay for a haircut? Sometimes it's nice to treat yourself and sometimes you find just the right bike that deserves a nice part or two. I am completely happy with Cane Creek and feel that the Forty series has a nice quality to it, it will just never be a Chris King.

PROS: Durable, Attractive Design, Easy To Install
