Club Roost
I have been working to get more speed out of my mountain bike on open road. They helped a bunch. My normal cruising speed was around 15 mph, with the addition of the tires and a little work on the gearing and body position the bike will cruise about 19mph, it open straights can run above 25mph. You do lose a touch of traction on lose corners, and i have not had the tires out of anything slick as of yet. But if you are looking for speed this is a good place to start. Normally i am a huge kenda fan, and have ran kenda' key west 1.5's in the past, the club roost tire out performs them and is more versitile.

Excellent traction
Great tires. I have had these on a few vintage 27" bikes for my commutes. Excellent traction in all conditions, just rode 20 miles in 4-6 inches of snow this morning with total confidence. Besides the performance qualities, they look pretty cool on my ride.

Great training/touring tire
I ran these quite a bit of the summer on my cyclocross bike and they worked great for the mix of paved and gravel roads I trained on. Held up well and rolled great on hardpack but had decent grip in loose gravel as well.

Nice Tire
I own a vintage Trek 614 road bike, celebrated its 30th birthday this year. Nice Reynolds 531/Ishiwata steel frame, long wheelbase, 27" wheels, Sugino AT triple crank, handmade in USA. It had been mostly gathering dust for the past twenty years (shame on me, it might be few pounds heavy, doesn't have great lateral stiffness, but it rides like a Cadillac), but these tires inspired me to fix it up, and turn it into light-duty CX bike. They run smooth and quiet on the road, and have plenty of traction on the dirt. They aren't sold at too many places online, and as is often the case, good ol' JensonUSA has the best price. So, thank you to JensonUSA for offering them, and to Club Roost for making such a cool product.

A few things to know: they are more like 27 x 1 5/16" wide, but they are still widest and most-agressive tread I cold find for the 27-inchers. And, although they are rated 40-65 psi, they are very soft at 40 psi on my Mavic MA-2 rims. That psi rating is more like the 26 x 2.1 tires on my MTB. I'd expect pinch flats, or even rim damage on hard hits, running them that soft. 50 psi seems more like a good minimum to me.

Aside from those two quibblings, they are a very nice tire for the price. Love'em. Cheers.

Good all around...
Good all around commuting tire. Great for rides which combine paved roads and dirt trails. If I could only ride one bike with one tire, this would be my choice!

Good Tire for Wet Road & Gravel Commute
My commute consist of gravel paths and wet roads. This tire is a good balance of traction vs low rolling resistance. Surprisingly light for a wire bead tire.

Great for dirt roads
I live in the Sierra Nevada foothills in California, where we have a fantastic network of fire roads in the National Forest. These tires are grippy enough to ride on dirt roads but don't make my bike feel sluggish on the asphalt. I have them on a rigid hardtail. It doesn't work great for hardcore mountain biking but it's great for zooming around on the fire roads.

PROS: Lightweight, Great Traction
