Giant started in 1972 with one goal: Create a better cycling experience for people around the world. Giant has never lost sight of their goal. The founders of Giant Bicycles were craftsmen and engineers, and they loved to ride. Working to their strengths, they set out to improve cycling by following three guiding principles: craftsmanship, innovation, and inspiration. Over the past four decades, Giant has become one of the most well- known bicycle brands in the world. Giant Bicycles has won world championships as well as numerous awards online and in- print cycling magazines. Giant Bicycles makes bicycles for everyone in the family, as well as for championship road and mountain bikers, and everyone in between.

The all new gravity-minded trail bike from Giant, the Giant Trance SX 27.5 has arrived. Designed to utilize the 27.5” wheel size to its full potential, the Trance SX can handle steep descents, tough climbs, and technical terrain. Giant has created the Trance SX 27.5 to be the ultimate enduro machine. The frame is composed of ALUXX SL-grade aluminum, sporting 5.5” of terrain-sucking Maestro suspension, utilizing the Fox Float CTD Evolution series rear shock. Up front on the Trance SX, is the stout Fox 34 Talas CTD Evolution series fork, with a 15mm thru-axle and OverDrive 2 steerer. The OverDrive 2 steerer adds unparalleled stiffness to the front end by tapering the fork from 1.5” to 1.25”, instead of the more common 1 1/8” taper.

The drivetrain on the Giant Trance SX 27.5 is composed of Shimano bicycle components, which are known to be some of the best components available for your mountain bike. The Shimano SLX Shadow Plus rear derailleur allows you to stiffen up the spring, which in turn makes dropping chains a thing of the past by keeping the chain under tension. The Shimano Zee crankset up front is made to be strong and durable, and meshes perfectly with the MRP G3 Mini Guide. All this paired with the 34 tooth chainring up front and the 11-36 10 speed cassette in the back allows you to climb and descend in whatever gear is comfortable for you.

Braking power has been delivered with the Shimano Deore Hydraulic disc brakes. The Giant Trance SX comes standard with a 180mm front rotor and a 160mm rear rotor, which is a common combination on most enduro machines. Giant has equipped the Trance SX 27.5 with their own P-TRX1 Wheelsystem, with a 12x142mm rear axle and 15mm front axle. This well help provide more stiffness and control on the frame of the Trance SX 27.5. The tires chosen on the Trance SX 27.5 are from Schwalbe’s tubeless ready line, running the Hans Dampf in the front and the Rock Razor Evo in the rear. This combination will provide ample control on even the rockiest terrain. Take no chances in your next enduro ride or race with the Giant Trance SX 27.5 and see what you’ve been missing!

Comments about Giant Bicycles Giant Bikes Trance SX 27.5 Bike 2014:

I have been out of the sport for a while and decided to treat myself a nice bike to shotgun myself back into mountain biking - and I'm glad I chose this bike. Before choosing this gem, I demo'd the Camber and Stumpy, but the deal was sealed when I got on the Trance SX.

Initially, for the price I thought the components could be a little better, but after riding it once I was more than pleased. The shifting is smooth, the breaking power is strong yet controllable. The suspension is soft and takes whatever you can throw at it, but the maestro setup allows for great climbing also.

This bike is great, don't hesitate!
