These are basic, no-frills seamless arm warmers for people who just need a little something to keep their arms warm on dry rides around 55-65ºF. They are made of a nice, 1/8" thick warm knit material that clings to your arms. There is a nice cuff at the hand end and a finished knit seam at the armpit end. They fold up easily and compactly when not in use. They have no grippers at the shoulder end.
They work fine, but my main beef with these warmers is that they are just a tad bit short. We're talking like half an inch here, though. I am 5'10", 170lbs, pretty average size, maybe slightly bigger guns than normal, and I'm wearing the S/M warmers. These warmers don't have grippers, so I'm constantly pushing them back up to cover the gap between my sleeve end and the warmer. If I pull them down enough to reach my gloves, they poke outta my jersey sleeves. To help avoid this, I prestretch them lengthwise before putting them on. Just annoying really. I'm going to try out the larger size next to see if they're longer, but I worry that they'll just be too much material. For what it's worth, these fit the arms perfectly without any extra material bunching.
Also, since they are made of a fabric and not a lycra, the dye does fade over time. This might bug some people, I'm kind of indifferent about it. You probably shouldn't put these in the dryer. I wish they were made of merino wool.
The plus is, if you are a skinnier, smaller person, the S/M will fit you perfectly! And they're made in the USA. Boom.
PROS: Minimal Branding, Easy to fold, Durable, Lightweight, Versatile
I have been using Defeet arm warmers for over ten years. I just purchased a new pair since my first pair were getting a little worn after 9+ years. Great arm warmer for the 45°-65°F temp range. There may be warmer sleeves out there but not for the money of these.
PROS: Lightweight, Value Priced, Durable, Versatile
BEST USES: Commuting/City, Road Biking, Mountain Biking
I stash these in my jersey when I'm not going to be done with my ride until after the sun goes down and the temperature's going to drop down below 60 degrees shortly after the sun sets. They take up very little space and they're easy to pull on while riding. And unlike arm warmers I've had in the past, they stay put.
