Comments about Deity Compound Pedals:
I think the best bike products are ones that can solve a problem better than others but do it in a simple way. These do.
No grip is sacrificed whatsoever vs the top brand metal pedals. The tall pins and huge width makes them a great contact point between your feet and bike.
The weight savings vs a comparable aluminum pedal is significant and noticeable...around half a pound.
I slightly prefer a concave pedal profile to these, but it took only 5 mins on the first ride with them to get completely comfortable.
I have found these to be very durable, but it could be argued that they cannot possibly be quite as durable. Deity acknowledges this concern by making replacement parts readily available and inexpensive.
Note: it is possible to damage the threads inside the pedal body that the end caps screw into (and hold the pedal tight on the spindle) if you over-tighten too much. I did that once but deity provided awesome customer service. Just go until it is snug then stop, and you won't have this problem.
