Deity Compound V1 Pedals

The Deity Compound pedals have an injected molded nylon composite body with replaceable Cr-Mo pins. The Deity Compound is not your average throw- away pedal. They are fully sealed, rebuildable, thin, and offer the same grip as a traditional aluminum pedal.

  • Black spindles and laser graphics on anodized end caps
  • Injection molded Nylon fiber composite body
  • Intended Use: DH, DJ, Street, and All Mountain
  • Weight: 339 grams

breakthrough design
I think the best bike products are ones that can solve a problem better than others but do it in a simple way. These do.

No grip is sacrificed whatsoever vs the top brand metal pedals. The tall pins and huge width makes them a great contact point between your feet and bike.

The weight savings vs a comparable aluminum pedal is significant and noticeable...around half a pound.

I slightly prefer a concave pedal profile to these, but it took only 5 mins on the first ride with them to get completely comfortable.

I have found these to be very durable, but it could be argued that they cannot possibly be quite as durable. Deity acknowledges this concern by making replacement parts readily available and inexpensive.

Note: it is possible to damage the threads inside the pedal body that the end caps screw into (and hold the pedal tight on the spindle) if you over-tighten too much. I did that once but deity provided awesome customer service. Just go until it is snug then stop, and you won't have this problem.

Lightest Pedal Ever
This is the lightest pedal of this type I've ever had. They replaced CNC machined aluminum pedals that weigh more than twice as much. These spin faster on short climbs better. They are not as rock solid as the old pedals and the grip is not as solid because of fewer pins, but for the weight advantage they're an excellent replacement. I'll include photos of the old and new pedals.

Awesome Pedal
I wanted to get back into riding flats so I started purchasing a bunch of light weight magnesium pedals to try. Finally, a friend recommended these to me. I was a bit comprehensive about purchasing a "plastic" pedal. However, these things are just as strong and stiff as any aluminum or magnesium pedal out there without the extra weight. The other benefit is when contacting a rock. These pedals slide right over them with little scaring or damage to the pedal. I have cracked the magnesium ones and the aluminums tend to grab the bike and dig in deep when contacting a rock. For the price to performance ratio of these pedals, you will be hard pressed to find a better pedal. I still can't believe that I haven't yet knocked out a pin on these pedals. When and if I can ever destroy these, I will definitely buy another pair.

Best pedals for $
I don't know why you would even bother with other platform pedals. These have fantastic grip (I love the convex shape), large platform, are completely rebuild-able, light and most importantly, dirt-cheap. My favorite feature would be how well the shape/material shrugs off impacts. I bought these primarily for this reason and haven't been chucked off my super-low BB downhill bike since I got them. Cannot recommend these highly enough.

Almost as good as clip ins
These pedals are amazing, I was blown away by how much they grip when combined with a pair of 5/10 shoes. For the price you can't find a better pedal for DH MTB. Lightweight, durable, and a large foot surface.

Fantastic, Relatively Cheap Pedals
Very durable. Easy to replace potentially broken parts, Deity has great customer service. No pins have fallen out after a year of heavy use. Don't hesitate to buy these pedals over metal ones.

Grippy and Light
I bought these for mountain biking, but liked them so much that I got another pair for my commuter bike to keep my feet from slipping off the pedals in the rain. They're grippy enough that my feet never lose the pedals, very light, thin, nicely colored, and cheaper than metal alternatives. I can't speak to their durability having only had them for a few months, but they have held up to bashing so far.

Excellent pedals
As other reviews have stated previously, these pedals are awesome. They're incredibly light, durable, and are super thin. There really aren't any other alternatives this good in the price range of the Deity compound pedal; similar (alloy/steel) pedals sell for 3x the price.

I replaced a set of Wellgo Mg-1's for the compound pedals, and I definitely feel like it was a good upgrade, especially considering that the soft magnesium of the Mg-1's deforms easily with rock strikes. These compound pedals are a. thinner and b. more durable than my previous pair, even after a few encounters with my local rock garden. The pins on these pedals are also a bit longer, and combined with a proper pair of MTB shoes, my feet rarely come unstuck.

graet pedals
After reading the other reviews I figured I'd try them out. Glad I did. These are great pedals. Coupled with my 510's, my feet don't move. And they're less than $50. Cant go wrong.

Great!
After I installed them and gave them a test ride around the block I was a bit skeptical since they seemed very light and were made from a different material.

So today, I took them on the trails and was very impressed; they were very comfortable and durable. I even scraped one on a rock and saw no marks on them!
