Not every ride is a break-neck race to the finish. For many, a bike that
delivers long distance comfort and a slightly more upright riding
posture is preferable to that of a more aggressive race machine. If you're looking to harness the
efficiency and ride characteristics of a high-end race bicycle, but are
looking for a road bike with a nod to comfort, the Diamondback Century Disc 2014 is primed to perform.
Diamondback’s Century road line is all about efficiency and endurance. Utilizing Diamondback's own Enhanced Performance Geometry (EPG), the Century retains all the handling, geometry and ride characteristics of the carbon Competition platform, with a slightly higher head tube height to put less strain on a rider’s back and neck. This improves the fit for riders with marginally less pelvic rotation and core stability.
The Diamondback Century Disc features Custom Butted 6061-T6 Alloy Enhanced Performance Geometry (EPG) frame with a tapered headtube for comfort and strength. The DBR AMMP Disc Carbon Road Fork features a tapered Carbon steerer tube and proprietary Continuous Fiber Technology which uses full-length carbon strands to manufacture the fork that extend from the top of the steer tube to the bottom of the drop outs. Using that same AMMP technology employed in the Podium frame, Diamondback has created one of the stiffest forks available. With a lower integrated crown race that’s completely carbon the need for a separate aluminum race is eliminated. This makes the overall system lighter, stronger and more responsive.
The Century Disc sports a Shimano drivetrain featuring a Tiagra 10speed dual control shifter and a Tiagra front and 105 rear 10 speed derailleur. Avid BB5R Road Disk brakes afford you the ability to stop on a dime. An FSA VERO Compact N10 crankset keeps things spinning smoothly while a DB Equation RS 23mm Wide Road Clinchers provide a durable and fast rolling wheel option. DBR Drop bars and a DBR 3D forged stem round out the cockpit while a DBR Performance Road seat and post ensure that you are riding in comfort and style.

Comments about Diamondback Century Disc Bike 2014:
I prefer Mt. Biking above all the other forms of biking but after a buddy let me barrow his carbon Felt road bike and I discovered how much more ground I could cover on pavement, I figured it was time for me to get one. Already being use to disk brakes I new that it was a must to have a bike equipped with them. I've got about 200 miles on my DiamondBack Century disk. I'm 5'8"s and like a longer wheel base, I went with a 54cm frame and ordered a 50mm stem to keep the reach where I needed it. So far it's been really enjoyable and comfortable to ride. The balance of the aluminum frame and carbon fork are great. I've ridden this bike down gravel roads, across dirt trails and through grassy hill sides.
My only complaint are the brakes. Once again it's probably got to do with me being use to hydraulic brakes and 180mm-203mm rotors. However the 140mm rear and the 160mm front rotors on cable actuated calipers still stop better than any cantilever style brakes I've used.
