Not every ride is a break-neck race to the finish. For many, a bike that delivers long distance comfort and a slightly more upright riding posture is preferable to that of a more aggressive race machine. If you're looking to harness the efficiency and ride characteristics of a high-end race bicycle, but are looking for a road bike with a nod to comfort, the Diamondback Century Sport Disc 2014 is primed to perform.
Diamondback’s Century road line is all about efficiency and endurance. Utilizing Diamondback's Enhanced Performance Geometry (EPG), the Century retains all the handling, geometry and ride characteristics of the carbon Competition platform, with a slightly higher head tube height to put less strain on a rider’s back and neck. This improves the fit for riders with marginally less pelvic rotation and core stability and provides a more comfortable ride for those who prefer a less aggressive riding stance.
The Diamondback Century Sport Disc features Custom Butted 6061-T6 Alloy Enhanced Performance Geometry (EPG) frame with a tapered headtube for comfort and strength. The DBR AMMP Disc Carbon Road Fork features a tapered Carbon steerer tube and proprietary Continuous Fiber Technology which uses full-length carbon strands to manufacture the fork that extend from the top of the steer tube to the bottom of the drop outs. Using that same AMMP technology employed in the Podium frame, Diamondback created one of the stiffest forks available. With a lower integrated crown race that’s completely carbon, the need for a separate aluminum race is eliminated. This makes the overall system lighter, stronger and more responsive.
The Diamondback Century Sport Disc hosts a Shimano drivetrain featuring a 105 dual control shifter and a 105 front and Ultegra rear 10 speed derailleur. TRP HYRD Cable actuated Hydraulic Disc brakes afford you the ability to smoothly stop on a dime with tons of power. An FSA Gossamer Pro Compact BB386 crankset keeps things spinning smoothly while a Shimano RS-11 Clincher Wheelset provides an extremely lightweight and fast rolling wheel option. DBR Drop bars and a DBR 3D forged stem round out the cockpit while a DBR Performance Road seat and post ensure that you are riding in comfort and style.
