Dropper seatposts are a great way to broaden the capabilities of your bike. They allow you to set the perfect seat height for efficient pedaling, then drop the saddle out of the way when you start your descent. This allows you to move the bike underneath you unencumbered, putting your body in a more controlled position to take on whatever the trail throws at you. In recent years, the dropper post has become an almost permanent fixture on the modern mountain bike, and has even started to appear on some gravel bikes as well.
While the component itself is a simple concept, fitting the correct dropper post for your bike can sometimes be challenging. There are a number of compatibility issues to consider to ensure you are choosing the right dropper post for your bike. If you are unsure which post to choose, reach out to a Gear Advisor for expert advice.
