In developing their Prizm Knee Guards, Fly Racing has developed and used their own high density foam. It has a prismatic sliced pattern and becomes suppler as it reacts to body temperature. This allows the pad to take the shape of and conform to the user's leg. The front has heavy duty kevlar panels and the rear is open to prevent material bunching. Fit and comfort are enhanced further with an innovative upper calf lacing system. This allows for individual sizing and adjustments that are easily made even with gloves on.
RPF = Reaktiv Prizm Foam.
Kevlar front panels - heavy duty front panels with high abrasion resistance to increase durability of the pad.
Side knee protection
Moisture wicking, antibacterial lycra pad liner
'Floating' neoprene patella cup with silicon printing to centralize the pad and prevent it from slipping down
Strategically placed elastic banding with silicon printing to help prevent the pad from slipping down
Open back design
Asymmetric design to have left and right specific for improved fit and function
Extensive use of flatlock stitching for increased strength, durability and comfort
The fit is good but you may need to put compression sleeves on so it helps with the inside rubbing on the top portion of the knee. Other than that I think they are good and lightweight. They could have a bit more ventilation side material to allow better airflow but over all a good buy.
This is a very good quality product, but lacks 1 vital feature in my case. There is only one adjustable fastener above the calf and below the knee, which is awesome. However, the upper security is an elastic cuff with no attachment. Test fitting these are a must in order for these to work because the elastic loosened up over time. When I took a good crash, the loose upper cuff got caught on the ground and slid them down my legs, exposing my knees on both sides. However, this may be the case with many lightweight pads. So, if you don't anticipate flying head first across the ground, this is an excellent choice. In my case, the upper cuff was a vital flaw because it acted as a scoop across the ground.
