Bold riding requires bold coverage. The Fox Titan Pro Elbow features a full plastic forearm, elbow, and tricep coverage backed up by special impact resistant foam and a comfortable soft bio-foam base. Security fit comes courtesy of a silicone gripper on the foam chassis and three elastic adjustable straps.
I started mountain biking a year ago and have had my share of painful bumps, bruises and abrasions. In order to avoid the pain most newbies experience, I looked into purchasing body armor. These elbow guards from Fox were exactly what I was looking for. They stay in-place, are comfortable to wear and have protected me from additional bumps, bruises and abrasions. Yes "padded" elbow guards are lighter but they won't protect you when you get ejected on a rock garden or hard trail surfaces!
Regardless of the weather, hot or cold, I won't ride without them.
I actually ended up picking up a set of these at my LBS before heading up to a lift-service day with some coworkers. We're all slightly older, slightly heavy, so I'm not a fearless 20-something doing hucks and gap jumps - just out having fun and want a little more protection.
The pads fit well. Yes, my arms get sweaty, the it's a small price the added protection. The have hit the ground a handful of times - where I would have been picking dirt and gravel out of my forearms / elbows. I've had them for just about a year and just on the last ride after a couple of minor spills, one of the Velcro straps pulled out from where it was stitched to the liner. Because of the sleeve, the pads will still work, and I can probably stitch it back into place. Good protection, there are probably better quality pads out there, but for the price they are not bad.
The fox elbow guard work ok. The left one fits smaller than the right one. The stitching is already coming undone for both. I wear them 3 times a week and I really dont fall or put them through a lot of wear, so why is the stitching coming undone? They plus side is that they are long enough to cover all the desired area and mobility is good.
