Fuji Tahoe 29er 1.0 Cross Country Mountain Bike 2012

Fuji is has a strong heritage in the bicycle industry. First established in 1899, the company was named after Mount Fuji. As a Mountain known as a symbol for strength and endurance it sure is no surprise that Fuji has thrived over 100 years later. Just like the mountain, the Fuji bikes that roll off the floor are some of the strongest and well designed bike on the market today.

The Tahoe is an Aluminum Hardtail 29er. This fierce and responsive bike is certainly worth a second look. The riding trend of Hardtail 29ers is a forced to be reckoned with. The large 29 inch wheels make quick work of nearly any terrain. The hard tail frame makes the bike quick and snappy. This is a huge plus because large wheels normally make you less responsive but that’s not the case with this hardtail 29er.

The Frame is constructed from A2-SL super light aluminum alloy. A tapered headtube is used to add to the stiffness and increase the ride quality and responsiveness of the ride. Cold forged drop outs are used with CNC’d post mount brackets. This increases strength while saving weight.

Fuji has set the Tahoe out on the right track with the high quality component group they have selected. The RockShox Reba RLT features a tapered alloy steerer that adds to the stiff properties that make this a responsive ride. In addition, with a flick of a switch you can lock out your fork due to the remote lock out feature. This makes it easy to lock out your suspension in an instant with the use of a remote lever on your handlebar.

Shimano and FSA are big players in the drivetrain business. It makes perfect sense that Fuji would go to great lengths to ensure that this build was outfitted with industry leading components and brands. The FSA Afterburner crankset is super stiff and allows for maximum power transfer. Shimano XT rapid fire shifters control the front and rear Shimano Deore XT derailleurs. And the Tektro Orion Hydraulic brakes allow you to stop on a dime. This 29 inch Hardtail is smooth rolling and is able to power through trail with easy. You can’t go wrong here!

Comments about Fuji Tahoe 29 1.0 Bike 2012:

Had a 26" Cannondale dual suspension in mountains of W. PA. Wanted a 29" hard tail for mixed roads/ rails to trails of E. PA. Wanted good components given my size, 6'2", weight 230 lbs and age, 60+. The Cannondale was excellent, gave it to one of my sons. Been riding the Fuji 10+ miles/day since receiving over a week ago. 2 x 10 gearing is excellent for current usage. Speed shifters were quick to familiarize and work well as do the hydralic brakes. Couldn't find a comparable bike at the LBS's any near the price range. Don't know what may have changed in the 2013/14 models but doubt it would justify the additional cost. Bike looks good also.

Comments about Fuji Tahoe 29 1.0 Bike 2012:

I have bought my last 3 bikes at a local LBS and I have become comfortable doing my own tune ups so I decided to take a leap of faith and buy my latest bike online.
I had bought parts from Jensons and was happy with their service so after doing a lot of research on the type of bike I wanted, I ordered this 2012 Fuji Tahoe 29 1.0 and I just love the thing. Right out of the box, this bike shifted like a dream. I love the XT shifters, XT front and rear derailleurs and the RockShox Reba fork is so slick.
I put Shimano Saint pedals and Ergon GP-4 bar ends on the bike and can not believe how much fun it is to ride. The handlebars are a little wide for me and I will be cutting 1" from each end and that will make the bike perfect in my opinion.
The WTB Vulpine tires are excellent on rail trails and decent on pavement.
I do 30 mile rides on rail trails and my last bike was a Hybrid. This Tahoe cross country mountain bike blows the Hybrid away on these trails and even feels better on pavement. Thank you Jensons.

Comments about Fuji Tahoe 29 1.0 Bike 2012:

I bought this bike from Jensons because I love the looks of it and it is an incredible value. I wanted a XC mountain bike because I like to ride fast on rail trails and this bike has met all my expectations. My second bike is a 2013 Trek DS 8.5 I got at a LBS and it is a decent bike but nothing compared to this Tahoe 29 1.0 and both bikes cost me approximately the same. I got the bronze build from Jensons and right out of the box, it shifts so much better than the Trek ever did but also has all XT shifters and front and rear derailleurs versus just Deore shifters and front derailleurs and SLX rear derailleur on the Trek. I can not believe how much better the Fuji climbs and rolls even with the big 2.1 WTB race tires. I had upgraded the original cheap tires that came on the Trek but it does not roll like these WTB Vultine Race tires.
The Tektro brakes are not as quite as good as the Shimano brakes on my Trek and the only negative thing I can say about my buying experience with Jenson is the bike was supposed to come with pedals and it did not have pedals.I put Shimano Saint platform pedals on it that I had put on the Trek. I also put Ergon GP4 bar ends on the Fuji as the original hand grips I did not like. I had intended on keeping both bikes but after 75 Km of trail riding and 12 Km of pavement , the Fuji is so much more fun to ride, I think I will sell the Trek. I love the wide handlebars and the 2x10 chain drive on the Tahoe 29 1.0. Thank you Jensons.
