G-Form Elbow Pads

Quantity   Out of stock.

The G-Form Elbow Pad provides form fitting protection for all day excursions out on the trails. G-Form uses RPT™ - Reactive Protection Technology, a blend of Poron® XRD™ and proprietary G-Form materials and technology. RPT give you a protective material that is progressive, meaning it gets tougher as the impact increases. It will also keep protecting you after repeated impacts without losing any of its protective qualities.

RPT Technology in the G-Form Elbow Pad also keeps the pad light and comfortable and protects your elbows on rides where you may not want downhill type protection that may be too bulky. The protective exo-skeleton is hinged to remain flexible and not restrict the movement of your arms . The protective element is attached to a compression fabric in order to keep it close to the body to insure that your protection does not move away from your key areas. The G-Form Elbow Pads can be worn in warm or cold weather, on top or underneath clothing.

    Comments about G-Form Elbow Pads:

Bought these because I have a bad habit of deflecting trees with my elbows. Lightweight and tough dry quick especially good in cooler weather but not to bad in hot.

      Comments about G-Form Elbow Pads:

I ordered according to the size guide and it seemed to fit okay, but on the trail it slipped down. I quickly learned that you can't wear it like illustrated in the pic if you mountain bike, since you bend your arms so much. Putting that circle on your elbow cap causes the pad to lift and pull, and create a loose spot that allows slipping. To get it to not slip, I just wear it a little lower.

Protection is minimal. The pad is minimal, after all, so don't expect miracles. The nylon spandex material is prone to tearing, and will likely get shredded when you crash. I've fell a few times with them on and got by with a few scratches, but they were minimal and relatively clear of debris, with only a few fingertip sized holes in the fabric.

It feels like an arm warmer and protects from the sun. It's bearable during the summer and there isn't any real excuse not to use it during cooler temps. If you do downhill, especially if you take a shuttle or lift to the top, opt for something heavier duty, perhaps body armor with elbow/forearm pads connected to it (which reduces slipping). Better to wear this during riding, than to wear a big bandage everywhere else if you crash, and the cost is far less than the cost of a few stitches.

That all said, there's nothing else like it. It's lightweight protection that offers a degree of protection that's far better than nothing, and better than anything else in the market that is similarly low profile. G-Form is in a class of its own.

          Comments about G-Form Elbow Pads:

I've been wearing these this season and have had a few opportunities to test them out by way of involuntary dirt samples. After my wrecks, I've hopped up virtually injury-free (in my most recent crash, I got a bit of road-rash where the padding didn't cover) and been able to see exactly where I impacted on the pad. I know my experience would have ended much worse if not for the protection provided by these pads.

I do a lot of XC/AM riding and the padding seems adequate for most of what I do. I would definitely not recommend them for downhill or anything where big impacts are possible. I don't think the padding is enough to absorb an impact from that type of riding.

They're light-weight, breathable and the fabric is comfortable, so wearing them doesn't interfere with your maneuverability like some other pads I've worn do. I usually bunch them up, throw them in my pack and put them on for the descent.

My only real complaint would be the build quality. I've seen where a few spots of the stitching have started to come undone and I have a spot where the non-padded fabric tore in my latest impact. These complaints are minimal and will not prevent me from purchasing or recommending these pads to someone.

I use this for all mountain and flow tracks as well as fast cross country. It fits great, true to size, and does its job well. Has lasted a couple minor diggers without any marks.

I use the pads for MTB. Very comfortable and Flexible. I didn't notice I was wearing them while riding. Good ventilation, won't prevent serious injuries but will stop the scrapes and gouges which is what I bought the pads for
