Giro mtb helmets are able to be fitted to a range of 'oval' heads, this helmet represents excellent value with a range of fitting prospects. The harder shell is indicative of a longer service life, especially for a kid.

This is a great all around helmet for the price. I've worn it primarily for XC recreational riding. It has a comfort level that only Giro seems to achieve and has good occipital coverage so it is a good choice for all mountain or possibly dirt jump applications as well.
It isn't as light as some of the pricier helmets so if you're counting grams you may want to spend more.
A Helmet is a Cheap form of insurence, and I would much rather pay for this then a hospital visit.
The hex is a great head shell, that comes loaded with vents (17 of them!) to keep you head cool, and great looks/comfort. This thing just soaks up the air and pushes it right down on top of your head. the price is great. A great buy to protect your coconut.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Great helmet. The retention system is amazing. Fit is true to size. Looks great in cyan. Haven't fallen yet, so I can't say how well it stands up to abuse. Retention system, although great, still isn't up to Bell's system. That's just a matter of preference, though!
i have this helmet for more then a year and i am very happy with this purchase.it is so comfortable
and you dont feel it on the head.
