The light, cool, and durable Giro Phase is an excellent choice for budget conscious riders looking for a low-profile helmet with high-level performance. Just because it's cheaper than Giro's top shelf models doesn't mean it doesn't share some of the main features, the major one being Giro's Roc Loc 5 system. Giro spent two years fine tuning the Roc Loc fit system to bring you Roc Loc 5, a groundbreaking fit system with an unmatched level of comfort, stability, adjustability, and weight savings. With Roc Loc 5, you can easily dial-in both fit tension and adjust vertical position with a single hand. Twist the ratcheting, micro-adjusting dial for a tighter fit on rough terrain, and back it off a bit to relax across the flats or up a warm climb. A three-position bracket allows for 15 millimeters of up/down movement for easy fine-tuning of vertical positions. Even with these impressive features, Roc Loc 5 is 40 percent lighter than its popular predecessor, Roc Loc 4. 27 vents provide plenty of ventilation and a Snap-fit 2 visor keeps the sun out of your eyes.

Comments about Giro Phase Helmet Discontinued 2013:
I bought this mainly because I wanted a helmet with a visor. After using it, I discovered the visor is so short that it's practically useless.
The helmet straps have an awkward twist that makes it difficult to put the helmet on.
I like the back-of-head adjustment knob.
