Giro New Road represents a paradigm shift in cycling apparel. Not content to simply roll with the crowd, New Road combines on-the-bike function with everyday aesthetics for a ride experience that is all about the adventure and beauty of cycling. The designers at Giro believe that not every ride is a race and have created an impressive collection that speaks for itself. Fit, fabric, and function have all been chosen with meticulous attention to detail, resulting in an apparel line that not only performs well, but looks stellar in the process.
Disguised as an effortlessly-stylish pair of shorts, the Ride Overshort is constructed from a modern nylon-spandex blend and is strategically cut to stretch and move efficiently and naturally with every pedal stroke. Don’t let the cool, calm, kicked-back style fool you, the Ride Overshort is just as composed pumping out the big miles or mashing the pedals in rush hour traffic, as it is lounging at a backyard BBQ on Sunday or grabbing a bite on Friday night!

Comments about Giro Ride Overshort Classic Short:
The Ride Overshort classic is a great example of a pair of shorts that bridges the gap between road lycra and baggy mountain overshorts. I've been wearing them on every ride for the last three weeks and have no complaints. I've ridden road, singletrack, fire roads, and in each scenario the Ride Overshort doesn't skip a beat. I like that they aren't as baggy as most mountain shorts, I find that many baggy shorts tend to get in the way or get caught on my seat when climbing or getting behind the seat on downhills. They maintain the casual feel of mountain shorts with more of a nod toward road and commuter wear in the looks department. I've worn them over a liner for some rides and sometimes with just merino Smartwool briefs and they have been comfortable in both situations. They appear to be very well made and have a bit of stretch to them which makes for a nice comfortable fit when riding. The side zipper pocket is just big enough to fit my house key and an iPhone. Overall, an excellent pair of shorts!
