I primarily ride aggressive single track, but also do some gravel grinders. The Xar is the most comfortable helmet I've owned. It's easy to adjust, and has a very secure fit. I almost forget I'm wearing it. Most helmets say they have good ventilation, but this is the first one where I can feel the air moving through it. The only down side is that there is some wind noise, but I mostly notice that on road rides. The Xar replaces my old Exodus, and as good as that helmet was the new one is even better.

I use this helmet for all types of cycling. When I first got it it immediately felt heavier than my last helmet. It doesn't weigh a ton, but I didn't expect to notice the difference either. Fit wasn't too bad, but I did have to add some pads to the side of the helmet to snug it up. Without the extra padding the helmet was a little sloppy on my head, even after snugging up the ratchet. Overall I wish I had gotten a different helmet. Just doesn't fit my head that well.

Really enjoy this helmet, basically forget it is up there. Adjustable visor is primo. Easily can wear glasses with it. The ventiliation is very good while riding, visor up or down, but while at rest in warm weather, it can get hot. But then again, if you are stopped, you can generally take it off. Size was absolutely true, and adjustable rear height make it a good fit whatever shape your head is.

This is a very comfortable helmet. I got a large and was able to adjust the settings to fit my head really well. After a while you dont even remember its there. It also has great ventilation and my head stayed cool.

One of the best fitting and ventilated brain buckets I have used. Fit is near exact.If you follow the fit guide on Giro's web site and you fall in the middle of the size you will do fine. If you fall on the bottom or the top of the spectrum you should definitely find it local and try it on. As for performance, once you put this helmet on and fit it, it disappears on your head. I never have to fidget with it. Even on hot days at rest, you will forget you have it on. Great buy.

Only down was the additional stick in pads were impossible to peel the backing off the sticky part with out it coming off the pad.
