I have a number of Giro items and some are better than others. Giro Ambient Skull Cap and these shoes are the best of the line, while Giro gloves tend to fall apart within six months.

I have ridden all sorts of platform shoes (5-10's, Tevas, Vans, other skate shoes) and these are the best overall.

The previous commenter said they were stiff. Well yeah that is what there supposed to be. For the price, these shoes are sticky, hard soled so they won't wear fast, and constructed well.

I have ridden through a cold and wet Milwaukee winter everyday and these shoes have held up. I ride on ice trails with Shimano Saint pedals, and these shoes grip in.

Drawbacks are some wear on the soles from the metal studs.

Pluses are the price, durability and comparable grip to 5-10's. Spend less and get the same outcome.

These are OK at best. I have 510s and these don't have the traction. Shoes are stiff and hurt my feet on the sides. Sizing is tricky at 10.5 i went with the 44. Riding traction is better than other shoes, but i can see them having much more traction that your average Vans. I would pass these up and get the Tevas if your aiming for more comfort, or 510 for all out traction.

I like these a lot. I sometimes get knocked off the pedal still (using with Spank Spikes), But for the most part grip is great - especially for the price. They are comfy and I can drive home and wear them around a bit if I don't feel like changing right away.

Fits wide foot very well. I usually have to try several models before I find one that fits. These fit great right out of the box. Soles are grippy and stiff. Good walking shoe.

Great value. Fairly well ventilated for this style of shoe. The grip both on and off the pedals is good, not great. I got a set of grey laces for the grey and green one's and it mellowed them out quite a bit.

Comments about Giro Jacket MTB Shoes 2014:

The shoe has a Vibram sole and sticks to the pedals well - at least the pedals that I have which have the pins with the flat tops and sharp edges. It's a lace up, so it will fit a variety of foot shapes, mine happen to be narrow and flat. If you have wide feet, you may need to go up a size. I snagged them on sale; you really can't go wrong at the sale price.

Bought these hoping they would stick to my pedals a little better, but unfortunately they don't. The thread on the shoes is pretty hard & they don't grip the pedal studs/pins very well. Wish I would have bought the five-tens vxi, they have a lot more grip

Comments about Giro Jacket MTB Shoes 2014:

I bought a second pair of these shoes, because for the price and the quality, these beat out 5-10's any day.

I wear a 13.5, quad wide shoe. I have looked for good platform shoes that meet my giant foot needs. After much searching, these shoes are it. I got the largest, 48, and they fit perfect.

I rode my 1st pair through an entire Milwaukee winter, and they are still looking good. I will use my 2nd pair for summer rides.

Anyone who wants a nice, sticky platform shoe for the price, here it is.

Neon green and gray are nice because they can be seen by cars and trail riders alike.
