I was introduced to Heed about 2 years ago, while training for a century and was happy to change over from the alternative electrolyte drinks. At the time I was trying out gatorade and cytomax. One of biggest differences I noticed is that Heed is not as syrupy nor as sweet, the flavor is more subtle, for me this is a big deal for most of the cycling nutrition/hydration products are too sweet.

The only other comment/complaint that I have is that Heed spoils easily, I am not sure if this is a good or bad thing. It will usually start to smell different after 2 or 3 hours of riding in moderate heat, so I always mix it up with ice/water to delay the spoiling.

The small complaint above does not stop me from using Heed, I still think its the best hydration product I have found and have purchased multiple canisters throughout the years. I certainly think it is worth a try if you are trying to find your best hydration product for cycling.

I get dehydrated easily and recently competed in a 100 mile gravel race where temperatures were in the 90's and winds were blowing in the upper teens to low 20's. I alternated drinking HEED and plain water the entire ride, and I was able to finish without suffering from any dehydration side effects. There were a large number of riders passed in the last 40 miles that had only been drinking water and were getting dehydrated.
I have a very fragile system when it comes to getting dehydrated and I can only attribute my success health wise in the race to drinking HEED in addition to water. It works like a charm, it doesn't taste bad but doesn't taste great either, so it could be improved in that regard but certainly tolerable and worth using if you are concerned about fatigue.
