Comments about Hayes Stroker Ryde Disc Brake:
Average braking power. Lever feel is not the greatest. Adjustable lever reach is good. Carbon levers available if you wish to upgrade. One of the noisiest brakes I've used when wet. Other brands' have better lever feel. Limited adjustability, leaked after few months' use. Would recommend Avid over Hayes.

Comments about Hayes Stroker Ryde Disc Brake:
I have been running these brakes for 6months now. They do what they are suppose to do when you need them. I noticed some fade in the rear brake on big decents but nothing too serious. I plan to purchase the 180mm IS mount for the rear to match the front to improve stopping power.

Comments about Hayes Stroker Ryde Disc Brake:
Good brakes for a great price. Work best with Hayes specific rotors. I had a lot of chatter when using avid rotors. Lever adjustment requires a tool but isn't a deal breaker. Very happy with my Hayes. As for modulation, a smaller rotor will give you more and a bigger rotor gives you power to lock em up and still has good modulation.

Comments about Hayes Stroker Ryde Disc Brake:
This replaced the original Hayes brake from 1998 and was rock solid for years till I couldn't get parts. I didn't want to spend a fortune and this brake is better designed, a great price and has performed great since install. I have put about 200 miles on it and is is wearing in great. Hayes rocks!

Used on a vehicle for the CCNY SAE Supermileage competition entry.
Comments about Hayes Stroker Ryde Disc Brake:
Had these for about 2 years. No trouble at all. Nothing fancy either, just a single piston caliper and 8 inch rotor that stops well. Adjusting the squeeze requires an allen wrench, no fancy knobs.
I bought another pair for my new build.
