T.H.E. Draco MTB Helmet

T.H.E. Draco MTB Helmet

The T.H.E. Draco MTB Helmet offers high-performance trail ride protection at an entry-level price. The Draco features lightweight in-mold construction that won't leave your head bobbing around under the weight of your helmet and it's aerodynamic profile cuts through the air like it ain't no thing. 23 external vents promote excellent airflow, letting cool air in and allowing heat to escape. The included visor gives the Draco a touch of classic MTB style and can be removed if going visor-less is more your thing. T.H.E.'s MaxiLoc rear retention system ensures that everything stays where it should and 3/4 coverage in the rear of the helmet extends the protective reach of the helmet, keeping the back of your head out of harms way. For serious trail junkies and beginners alike, the Draco doesn't disappoint.

Look good, feel good, be safe
It's a great helmet with adjustability and good overall protection. The visor locking method will probably prevent having to look for yours after you hold a yard sale. The subtle camo-on-white decor is very slick. I have a black and white MTB and when I wear this helmet I almost look like I know what I'm doing.
My head is a strange shape (don't tell anyone)narrow front to back so the temples don't fit perfectly but the adjustment takes a lot of that out. Fit issue makes it a four star for me, but to be honest I've never had a perfect fitting helment. On the plus side, It stays on when I fall.

Great for the price
This is a great helmet for the price. You can't beat the value. The green color is very nice, I've ordered the white camo one as well. The only issue I have had is the strapping system. For a helmet this nice the strapping system is a little confusing. But for the straps this would easily be a 5 star. But hey for the price, well worth it. Grab one!! You will love it.

PROS: Great Fit, Awesome color choices, Can't beat the price, Great syling

CONS: Straps are hard to adjust, No Instructions For Strap

great helmet
this helmet is great especially since many of the stores deeply discounts this helmet. i regularly use a Giro Hex and i would even say this is even better than the Giro Hex (in terms of quality and value). It seems comparable to the Giro Xen. The sizing is perfect for those are are in between sizing for Giro and Bell helmets

PROS: High Quality, Light, Well Made

CONS: Thick Shell

Great Helmet for the Price
I use this for MTB and so far I like it pretty well. I have a few rides in and the helmet seems to stay put just fine. The fit is a little different than I'm used to, and not sure if it's that big of a deal. It feels like it's not snug to the side of the head, but just the front and back. But, when I do all of the fit tests it seems to be just fine. Maybe just a design difference with no impact on performance.

The one thing that can be a little uncomfortable is the from velcro tab that holds the pad on. Sometimes feels like it's pushing in to my forehead.

I ordered the L/XL based on the size chart and there was plenty of room to spare with the adjustment capabilities. Good fit.

PROS: Color, Cost, Venting

CONS: FIT

BEST USES: Commute, MTB

Not as good as expected...
After reading the reviews I thought this helmet would be a sure winner, especially considering the sale price. I bought the green and was happy with the appearance but the fit is not best. Its really designed for a round head as the interal head set(not sure what to call it) is only in the back half so you can tighten the helmet fine but you always have a gap at the temples. Its bot a bad helmet and truthfully was worth the sale price but its not as good as most ive used in the fit department. I was also expecting more rear nogen coverage but cant fault the product for that, and it still looks fairly good.

You get what you pay for.
This is a great looking helmet and provides protection, but highly recommend trying it on before you buy. Even though I picked it up for thirty dollars, I've owned plenty of other helmets in this price range that fit better and secured to my noggin more securely. I have a pretty large dome at 7 and 1/4 - 7 and 3/8, but never had a terrible time finding a helmet that fits my head, Bell has always been best. There's an excessive amount of room at the temples that lets the helmet rock side to side, but not a lot of room front to back, putting a lot of pressure on the forehead. The securing mechanism on the back is really cheap and doesn't adjust in large increments, so it's either too tight or too loose. When tightened, it popped/clicked loose on a couple occasions. The helmet likes to tilt and slide up and rearward on the back of your head, pulling the chin strap with it, thus choking you a little. I had fits with it, constantly stopping mid ride and having to adjust. It seems to fit my buddy ok, so it's his now and he seems to like it. That being said, I don't want to NOT recommend this, just highly advise trying it on and do some good ol' Metallica induced headbanging before buying.

PROS: price, Style, Color variety

CONS: Strange fit, Cheap Strap, unrelaible

BEST USES: Mountain biking, Commuting, Casual riding
