Cool product - I have a star-nut setter, but when you're still figuring out steerer tube length, use this instead. Also, you can remove it easily and transfer it to a different bicycle if needed.

I don't know why but this would not fit in the steerer of my fox 40 with Risse clamps. Maybe the Risse steerer is thicker? I don't know but I spent 2 hours machining the tapered spacers down to make it all fit and work, now that it is in there it seems to work fine.

I buy a lot of hope products I have never had any issues with their quality. I was really interested in an alternative to the star-nut set up and this caught my attention. The product looks well made, however it would bearly fit into the stem of my Fox FIT RC2 TALAS fork (180). It had to use a mallet to get it set. Once it was in, the bolt (which is lightweight aluminum) would not thread in. Upon inspection, I noticed that the threads where all jacked up. I cannot tell is the machine work was done poorly or if the insert buggered up the works. I never got the bolt in further than 3/8", hand tightened, so I suspect that it was either defective or I was sent a return. Either way, the cost was not high enough for me to want to return it. Odd thing is, I like the idea and would consider trying it again, only because I think the one I got was defective.

I used this product after using a bolt, nut, and washers from[@] as a headset clamp basically. I've been using it for a month and it's been great, no hastle, and very easy to use. The only problem I had was the top bolt sneered off from too much torque, but I just screwed it out from the bottom and installed a stronger bolt.

I'm not sure why other people are having trouble with this, but I found it dead easy to use.
Not really any better than a star fangled nut, but it's pretty and still effective.

I have one installed on a Marzocchi fork and it works great! It has not came loose and headset preload is easy! Trust me it is worth the money. Get one with your next fork purchase!

I absolutly Hated it DO NOT BUY THIS!!! The conventional starnut and bolt and cap were way better than this cheap wedge design. Don't make the same mistake I made.... Buy something else, its not worth the money, and if your looking for an alternative to the starnut but an answer stemlock
