TECH EVO LEVER
For 2012 the lever pivot has been slightly shortened which translates to a 15% increase in power. The Tech Evo lever now has a roller fitted to the cam mechanism, further enhancing the smooth feel of the lever.
Ambidextrous ‘flip flop’ design, CNC machined from a solid billet of 2014 T6 aircraft spec aluminium alloy - with a split clamp to allow easy set up and choice of positioning. Redesigned piston, lever and pivot assembly with external ‘on the fly’ reach and bite point adjustment dials. The lever linkage eliminates freeplay in the lever giving a consistent and reliable feel to the brake. Further developments include bearing lever pivots for smooth, rock free use and increased lever ergonomics with a perforated lever for extra grip and feel. Also, a double sided reservoir lid makes for easy bleeding. The brake is supplied with a choice of either hi tensile polyester reinforced or Goodridge stainless steel braided hose.
M4 CALIPER
The one piece caliper is CNC machined from a solid billet of 2014 T6 aircraft spec aluminium alloy. The M4 caliper uses four identical 16mm phenolic pistons which gives more usable power to the brake, whilst keeping our ledgendary "feel". A drip free bleed nipple and wide angle orientation of the fluid inlet connector have also been added, allowing for neater hose routing and cleaner servicing

Replaced a set of Elixir 5's with these and I couldn't be happier. We won't talk bad about the Elixirs, but they were less than a year old, so form your own opinion.
Once I tuned the Hopes in and got the brake calipers centered, I have not had a single issue with them. Great braking power with single finger control.
I would suggest that you consider positionong the brakes to the inside of the gear shifts. In this set-up, I was able to move the levers so that my index fingers grab the sweet spot just before the end of the lever. That gave me the most power with the least effort, and without moving hand position.
If you purchase, you won't have any regrets. They are a solid, quality product.

i set this breaks to my stinky primo a heavy bike...(HEAVY MEANS HARDER TO STOP) BUT my god!!! i went to a reliable hayes mag to this monster breaks! front feel great beacuse theres no on off feeling so you can do some consistent breaking and rear let you lookup when needed but also gives a smoth mid point breaking force, this breakes came just at thE rigth time to me because i am picking up the level a little bit so ist great to have a reliable feel on your breaking levers calipers and all!!!

This is my first set of the M4. I've run the X2's for almost 3 years and no issues, these have a bit more power. Alot more actually. Bolted up and went riding. The rotors don't come with them, but I was running the floating rotors from the X2's. If you run new rotors, you must bed these before you do any long downhills or they won't develope the correct feel!! That said, these things are so nice. The reach/contact adjustments work great. They have alot of power, but it is completely controllable. I brake the same as my old X2's, but there is still some left over power. They haven't faded or pumped up. All one finger or 2 if you like, but you don't have to pull on them. And it's not at all an on/off brake. Really good brakes.

These extremely beautiful brakes came bled and ready to go out of the box. The hoses were just the right length for my Large Ellsworth Moment w/ Marz 5.5. There is definitely no ON/OFF feel with these brakes and the bite point/reach adjustment makes it easy to dial em in just right. I don't really know what else to say. I think at this price point they are the obvious choice. Did I mention they're pretty.

The fronts worked fine but no matter how many times I bled the rear brakes it would not get rid of the mushy lever feel. I could never get the rear levers to feel as firm as the front. For the price I expect nothing but perfection. Gonna return it!
