As more and more CX (cyclocross) bikes are coming with disc brake mounts, Hope noticed the need for a remote disc brake. The dual master cylinder fits onto a special bracket under the stem, giving the powerful brakes which dropbar bikes are usually lacking and keeps the run of cable as short as possible. The transition from cable to hydraulic is achieved with a simple piston system, removing the need for complicated levers.
