Comments about Dakine Nomad Hydration Pack 2012:

The Dakine Nomad is a very unassuming little fella! When you first take it out of the packing, you are surprised at how small it looks and can be a little doubtful about your buy. Don't be! You quickly realise how much goes into this bag.

The bag has two major compartments for gear. One is just an open space where you can dump stuff. The other has neat little meshed and zippered pockets where you can store your spare tubes, puncture kits and small stuff. The mesh helps you locate stuff easily instead of fumbling inside a pocket blindly. There is also a sweet little pocket designed for a pump. This is only one of many little details which you will come to love about this bag.

The front flap is design to hold a helmet within it. It is also designed to be able to hold a full-face helmet (as you can see from the pictures'. The straps below it can hold those leg guards which you hate lugging to the top of a DH trail. There's a lovely little suede-finished pocket (above the helmet-holder - which you should be able to see in one of the pics) specially for your shades, to ensure they don't get scratched. There's also a nicely padded pocket at the top of the large compartment (just below the dedicated earplug opening) which can take your mp3player or phone. The flap of the helmet-holder has a fully-lined water-proof compartment for maps, money or your electronic stuff in case its raining(as if the rest of it weren't water-tight enough).

The hydration pack is very very good. I drink a lot of water and the 3 litres is more than I can finish on a 100km day. And I live in India :) The flow rate isn't quite as much as much as Camelbak's patented technology, but its more than sufficient. Its probably a good thing not to gulp down too much water at one shot anyway. For all that Camelbak's touted, I prefer the water-filling system in this bag. It basically looks like a super-strong ziploc wherein you just open the top, dump water in and seal it. You can even put in ice cubes.

The back of the Camebak is stiff and ridged so it actually functions great as a back-protector. Very solid construction despite being so light.

    It also looks downright cool!

All this for a pack which is half the price of any equivalent (if there is an equivalent.... I don't think the Mule is half as good) Camelbak.

    Don't think twice. Buy it!

Comments about Dakine Nomad Hydration Pack 2012:

I really like how this pack is designed. The internal pockets give me a great way to organize my snacks, tools, tubes, etc., and it's roomy enough for a full bladder and some spare clothes as well. Its easily carried all that I needed for some all day adventures. very tough and durable too.

    Versatile hydration pack

Comments about Dakine Nomad Hydration Pack 2012:

After years of using Camelback packs for my hydration/pack needs I switched over to the more pricey Dakine pack. This pack is perfect as its big enough to fit a ton of gear but at the same time when you go for a quick ride and dont need to pack lots of gears its still stays compact and isn't
heavy. This pack has pockets and pouches galore, it really does allow to fit all the biking requires tools and accessories. Its big enough to fit in jackets and knee pads as well as can carry a helmet. The quality of the pack is top notch as well.
The pack is very comfortable to wear and when used with the waste strap you barely notice it is there.
Overall I would strongly recommend this pack, its big and versatile and can be used for all types of riding.
