Ibis Ripley LS X01 Eagle Bike

Ibis Ripley LS X01 Eagle Bike

A twenty nine inch hooped rig with a more “trail-like” geometry. Long and Slack. Roll large like a big boy and descend right alongside the finest of trail bikes.

The Ibis Ripley 29 has been a long time coming. After about a half decade of R&D, Ibis has proudly released the Ripley 29 and the Ripley LS. Ibis’ goal with the LS geometry was to create a nimble, responsive, and light 29er. One that is also stable at speed. To do so, Ibis extended the top tube about 15mm and went with a 67.5 degree headtube angle. The Ripley LS is a true trail bike, one that allows you to throw on a helmet and explore the ends of the earth. Once you throw your leg over the Ibis Ripley 29, you’ll experience a new kind of cycling.

Constructed of high quality carbon fiber, the Ripley frame is incredibly lightweight, will absorbs trail shock, and, oh yes, she is pretty. No weld lines in sight. At the heart of the Ibis Ripley LS is the eccentric DW- Link Suspension. With 120mm of travel it gobbles up debris on the trails, while preserving pedaling efficiency. DW- Link features excellent small bump compliance and predictable travel through the range with no walling or harsh bottoming out. To ensure superior maneuverability and stability, the Ripley LS has a tapered head tube and boost 148 dropouts. The Ripley 29 LS is definitely a bike you’d take home to meet your mother. Just keep it on a short leash.

Your Ibis Ripley LS Boost X01 Eagle bike will arrive at your doorstep with some of the best componentry SRAM has to offer. A SRAM XO1 Eagle 1x12 drivetrain give you the freedom and range to take on any terrain. The Drivetrain is complimented by a set of SRAM Guide RSC hydraulic brakes, an Ibis carbon bar, Thompson stem and a KS LEV Integra dropper post topped with a custom Ibis saddle. The 34mm wide Ibis 938 wheels are wrapped in Maxxis 2.5” Nobby Nics.

Quiver killer/van bike/Swiss army bike
So, I bought this bike specifically for the Pisgah Stage Race. I took about 6 months of researching mid travel 29ers, and I had come down to the yeti sb 4.5 and the ripley ls. My dad has the yeti, and it's unquestionably amazing, but I came across this totally decked out ripley for a much better deal than you can find the yeti anywhere. Now that I have 3 weeks and 300+ miles on the Ripley LS, I know that I made the right choice. This bike is an extremely efficient climber, and descends as confidently as any other bike I've ridden. The wide ibis rims totally change the profile of the nobby nics, and it feels like the bike is glued to the ground in the corners. The only thing I changed on mine was to swap the ibis hubs for i9 torch hubs. The bike is absolutely incredible. The one complaint I had read was that it pedal strikes frequently in technical climbing, and I have found that to be a very, very rare occurrence. It may be that I'm 160 pounds soaking wet or that I pick my lines on ascents, but the pedal strikes are not an issue. One thing I'll suggest is to buy the ibis touch up paint, and get a lizard skins frame protection tape package! Thanks Jenson for an amazing deal, and thanks Ibis for making my favorite bike I've ever ridden!
