After toying around with the 27.5” platform in the Trail bike sector, only to be enlightened by the versatility of these prized 27.5” machines, Intense Cycles now shines the light on one of the very first 27.5” Downhill bike, with the 951 EVO. Although downhill riding never quite adopted the 29” wheel size, the speed capabilities that come with 29” wheels has had Downhill racers licking their chops. For this reason the 27.5” platform now makes its way to the world of gravity riding. Nimble like a 26”, yet fast like a 29”, the 27.5” brings forth the best of both worlds.
Made with love in the USA, Intense Cycles designed the 951 EVO from the ground up to suit the capacities of 27.5” wheels. By utilizing 8.5” of travel and an aggressive geometry, Intense Cycles made sure the 951 EVO is light enough in the corners and manageable in tight sections. The head tube angle has been slackened to 62.5 degrees to accommodate the 27.5 specific fork offset, which inspires confidence through daunting steeps and brutal rock gardens at high speeds. The chain stays were kept short at only 17.5 inches to provide stability at higher speeds, while remaining dexterous in the corners. Top tube lengths have been extended to ensure you have no shortage of room in the cockpit. The bias has been adjusted slightly more to the front; making the front wheels track better for some added assistance in the curves. Because the 27.5” wheel size brings the bottom bracket height below the axle center, the bottom bracket is right at 13 3/4” to give the bike a nice, stable feeling, transitioning through to the overall control of the 951 EVO.

The park-worthy outfit also includes SRAM Guide disc brakes and a RockShox Domain dual crown fork, providing you with the reliability and performance needed to push your limits, while maintaining a welcoming price point.
The LG1 chainguide by e*thirteen keeps chains secure while the direct mount bash guard absorbs and deflects impacts away from the chainring. The RockShox Kage R coil rear shock is highly adjustable and feasts on boulders, roots and ramps. The 951 EVO rolls on a sturdy set of Stan's Rapid 30 Team wheels wrapped in Maxxis High Roller II tires. TRUVATIV rounds out the cockpit of the 951 Park with a Holzfeller direct mount stem and BooBar butted AL-7050 handlebar.
