Everyone please stand up for the new Intense Cycles Carbine SL. Intense pulled out all the stops in order to create an extremely light weight cross- country/ light trail bike. High modulus carbon, titanium bolts, and a carbon fiber shock link keep this bike feeling feather weight. Intense Cycles has joined forces with German design and engineering specialist SEED Engineering to create a high modulus carbon fiber frame that is light, extremely strong, and aesthetically pleasing. The Carbine SL is nothing short of a cycling masterpiece.

The Carbine SL features a Fox Kashima coated RP23 rear shock and uses its signature VPP (Virtual Pivot Point) suspension. Between the shock and rear suspension design, the rider will obtain optimal pedaling efficiency without pedal-bob. The adjustable travel positions allow you change the rear suspension from 4.75 to 5.25 inches; this allows you to adjust your rear suspension to your preference and terrain.

Intense Cycles has packed in many other exciting features into the Carbine SL. The tapered headset allows for a rigid front end, when hucking rocks or steering down a gnarly rock garden. The replaceable derailleur hanger gives you piece at mind, because accidents happen. Pre-routed for your dropper post, you’ll no longer have to bare the sight of homeless dropper cables.

To add the icing to the cake, Intense chose high quality Shimano components and Fox Shocks suspension pieces. The Fox Float CTD features brand new technology from Fox for 2013. The CTD allows you to effortlessly choose the proper setting depending upon the terrain you are riding. You will no longer need to remember complicated low speed compression settings. The 140mm of plush suspension will guide you through the trails effortlessly. The buttery smooth, Genuine Kashima Coat has a distinctive gold color and is backed by its high performance attributes. Kashima provides an exceptionally smooth feel and is extremely durable. The Fox RP23 rear shock features propedal, so you’re able to effortlessly climb steep and/or long hills. As you ride up, around, and down the mountain your Shimano XT shifters paired with Shimano XT cranks, XT front derailleur, and Shimano XTR rear derailleur will provide smooth reliable shifts. Shimano drivetrain components are smooth and are renowned for their quiet and silky smooth shifting qualities. The 10 speed (Shimano Dyna-Sys) setup will provide you with bountiful gear ratios. Shimano XT brakes will bring you to a quick halt once your ride is complete.

The Intense Carbine SL may seem like a lot of bike for you. However, the Carbine SL Expert is a bike you will grow into as your skills and love for mountain biking grow. The stiff, strong, and lightweight carbon fiber frame is rugged enough to handle the most terrifying conditions, yet is graceful enough to climb steep terrain without strain.
