20 Years after Shaun Palmer finished 2nd at the Cairns, Australia World Championships atop his famous USA-flag painted Intense M1, he has teamed back up with Intense to dream up today's super-bike version of "the world's most famous 2nd place bike." Hand-painted and custom-spec'd, Intense produced only 60 of these stunning complete bikes. This patriotic part build includes Fox suspension, a SRAM X01 DH drivetrain with an E13 LG1R carbon crank, a Cane Creek 40 headset, and a Thomson Elite seatpost. Other components include Magura brakes, Renthal handlebar and stem, a Fabric Scoop Radius Pro saddle and a DT Swiss 1950 wheelset.
Designed with an insistent geometry, plenty of travel, and the perfect 27.5" wheel size, the M16's talent still lay in today's World Cup race scene. Sculpted to trim milliseconds, the M16 features VPP (Virtual Pivot Point) suspension to rid the rig of unnecessary compression without compromising bump absorption. The finished product gushes plush travel for more control, which therein equates to more speed. You're down to go fast right?
Without any shortage of adjustability, the M16 allows you dial in the bike depending on what the run is looking like for the day. With 8.5 to 9.5 inches (215mm €“ 240mm) of travel via the Fox Factory Coil DHX2 rear shock, and its gravity-tuned geometry, technical descents will become your playground in a hurry.
To provide the required muscle for taking on rock gardens and massive roots, Hydroformed Alloy is the frame material of choice, meaning its constructed right here in the USA.
