The Dakota dXC Race is a speed demon, ready to help you accomplish your personal best. Jamis used Kinesis SuperLight (KSL) tubing in order to keep the bike as light as possible. The sloping top tube allows for maximum stand over clearance. The semi- integrated head tube and gusseted down tube increase frontal strength, which the carbon fiber monostay adds additional lateral stiffness and vibration damping. The nimble nature of a hardtail allows you to whip through the course with grace. The Dakota dXC Race is amazingly light and fast, and a tough competitor in the cross- country circuit.
The dXC was paired with performance- oriented components. The Rock Shox Recon Gold RL Solo Air fork features a weight- optimized aluminum crown, 32mm 7000 series aluminum stanchions, magnesium lowers, and Motion Control damping. The Shimano drivetrain was built to be rugged and perform well. Shift through all 30 gears with amazing ease and reliability.

I bought this bike to start racing XC at the local novice level. Really helped me to improve. A great starting bike to trail ride or for those who are budget conscious. Great, real mountain bike! I would switch out the handlebar for something wider and with a bit of a rise. Put a lighter wheelset and tires on it and this bike can definitely be great at the novice/ sport xc race or just for fun at your local trails!
