Jamis Komodo Mountain Bike 2012

If you fiend for big air and the adrenaline of bombing down treacherous slopes, if you feel as though your mind coexists with the trail, if you seek the elemental experience of becoming one with the bike, the Jamis Komodo can and will be your accomplice. Designed to go where hardtails aren’t welcome, Jamis crafted the Komodo frame by double-gusseting incredibly burly Kinesis 7005 aluminum alloy for hulk-like strength. The whopping 57mm downtube is ovalized to a husky 72mm at the 1.5” head tube for superior front-end stiffness.

Take note that the Komodo may be a hardtail, but it was not bred for cross country riding. No, it’s inspired by art of riding downhill, with slacker head and set tube angles for high-speed handling and the muscle and stability to take on big landings. However, the Komodo is more than a downhill demon, the incredibly short 410mm chainstays tuck that rear wheel in tight, for corner-on-rails handling and climbing traction to rival its cross-country specific hardtail cousins. To put it bluntly, the Komodo is not for anyone. It for those who possess the poise and confidence to handle big air on a hardtail.

Comments about Jamis Bicycles Jamis Komodo Mountain Bike 2012:

I always wanted a Jamis. The Komodo is a gorgeous downhill style bike and I love the orange color. The Geax tires are huge with aggressive tread. The WTB seat was a good choice. The mechanical disc brakes are great. The front forks do not lockout but they do have plenty of travel for me even when fully preloaded. I shopped around in town hoping to get a good deal. I couldn't believe I got such a good deal ordering on line. I was a bit apprehensive about assembly but the bike went together easily and without a problem.
