Way back when Jamis introduced their very first Dakar 650B prototype nearly six years ago, something triggered them to experiment with the 650B wheel size in a hardtail. The Nemesis 650 is the race-ready aluminum execution of Jamis’s 650B promise. If you’re committed to hardtails and ready to jump on the 27.5” train, the Nemesis 650 is an attractive race steed.
The Jamis Nemesis 650 is constructed from from Kinesis 7005 triple-butted SuperPlastic Formed aluminum tubing, which presents a sturdy, yet lightweight ride. For the drivetrain, the Nemesis 650 employs SRAM components including X7 shifters and a rear derailleur, and a X5 front derailleur, which efficiently communicate with each other for smooth, snappy gear changes. The 2x10 gear set-up provides 20 gear ratios, optimized for cross-country training or racing. Avid Elixir 3 hydraulic disc brakes bring you to a quick stop, once you’ve decided to pack it in for the day. The X-Fusion Velvet RL 650B fork features 32mm stanchions and tapered alloy steerer tube to keep things stiff up front. Rebound and lockout adjusters allow you to dial your suspension to the current conditions of the days ride. The 100mm of travel provides the perfect amount of small-bump compliance without taking away from pedaling efficiency; a recipe for race-day. The Jamis XC saddle features a pressure relief channel to keep the blood flowing; while the Ritchey AM stem, handlebar, and seatpost produce a rigid cockpit for exceptional control and power transfer. The Nemesis’s proven geometry climbs like a mountain goat and delivers confidence on the descents. Pair the Nemesis 650’s race-bred frame with its clever build-group, and throw in the fast, yet agile 650B wheel size, with 100mm of travel on top, and you’ve got yourself the XC machine you’ve always wanted; fast, dexterous, versatile.

Comments about Jamis Bicycles Jamis Nemesis Mountain Bike 2012:
I make it out about 2-3 times per week on a single track and am a relative newbie. This bike is a huge upgrade from my 10 year old, entry level Trek that I've been pounding into submission the last few months. The components are top notch, bike light enough to maneuver easily (29 lbs with everything on it) through technical sections and front suspension so smooth I thought I had a flat tire at first. Great bike so far at a great price!
