I needed a new chain, and this one worked. It's actually been through a bit of hell, with a bent rear derailleur and a snapped hanger at one point that lead to some sketchy shifting and tension. I fixed all that, and tested the chain out, and it's still as good as new, and working very well. I've got no complaints.

I ride variouos bikes, have always used Shimano CN7701/XTR chains and they've lasted well and taken abuse. My current bike's small ring is about done and if not careful shifting down to it you can get some chain suck, have had this happen numerous times (mostly muddy) with my CN7701 chain and no problems, never bent or twisted. Bought this chain because I had read fairly positive reviews about it and it was 1/2 the price, so I thought I'd give it a go.
Well inevtabaly I got chain suck, I was riding to meet a group in the early hours, it was dark, I removed the quick link and put the chain back on, couldn't use any gear, thought "Darn rings are worse than I thought" so rode the entire ride in my 38t ring and 32 outback, never thought to check the chain for a twist until I tried it on another bike and that gave trouble also, then I looked and found the twisted link. Cannot believe how easily this chain twisted, honestly not worth it even if it was free.

I don't know alot about super-strong chains.
Comments about KMC MZ9000 / X9.93 9SP Chain:
Based on my experience, I will not be buying another KMC chain. It shifts okay and thankfully hasn't broken, but is wearing too quickly. I'll probably buy another Shimano chain.
Comments about KMC MZ9000 / X9.93 9SP Chain:
Chain broke within first hour of use while just biking down the road. Worst Chain Ever... If your new bike has one, replace it now and save yourself a ton of trouble.
Comments about KMC MZ9000 / X9.93 9SP Chain:
The chain broke within the first hour of use. Fortunately I wasn't climbing a hill. Online reviews for this product are horrible. Consumer Products Safety Commission should look into this product. Jenson shouldn't sell it.
Comments about KMC MZ9000 / X9.93 9SP Chain:
This chain has lasted for over 1 year without any problems. I ride an average of about 4 miles a day riding back and forth to work, so I've put this chain through its paces between riding to work and the occasional race or friendly trail ride.
Comments about KMC MZ9000 / X9.93 9SP Chain:
This chain WILL BREAK! There is no doubt about it! I Bought a brand new $1000 bike and it had this chain on it. The 3rd time of riding it, I was simply accelerating for a jump, and it broke! Think of your shins!!!
Comments about KMC MZ9000 / X9.93 9SP Chain:
Simply put, terrible. Broke it on the first ride. May have been a manufacturing defect or something but regardless, first ride.
Comments about KMC MZ9000 / X9.93 9SP Chain:
While I appreciate full-suspension bikes are particularly hard on chains, I expect more than 4 rides out of a new chain before it breaks, which is what happened with this chain. I've broken chains while racing before, but never this new. To make matters worse, it flung off the chainring into the leaf litter beside the trail never to be seen again. Race over, time to walk out of the woods. I know this wasn't the chain's fault, but I had to vent!
