Make sure the lever clears the seat
Right after installing it I thought the dropper was defective. The symptom was very similar to another reviewer so I thought I would chime in.

The manual lever needs a full range of movement for the dropper to go up and down smoothly. In my case the lever was hitting the bottom of the saddle nose and could not pull up fully. I moved the seat forward slightly and everything started working perfectly!

Simplicity is a Plus
I have a KS Lev w/remote on my Stumpjumper and it's in constant use on the trails around my house. Prior to installing it I would just have my seat up in pedaling position and try to work around it on the downhill and technical sections. Stopping to use the quick release means you only sometimes have the seat in the right position.

I recently bought a dedicated DH bike, and the challenge is the opposite. The seat is down almost all the time, except for sections you have to pedal up or across. Trying to pedal from the dropped position almost makes the bike feel like it's too heavy to pedal. And it kills your knees.

The cable routing for a remote dropper means you aren't going to switch it between bikes, and there aren't always elegant routing options for every type of bike. The eTen manual is affordable, very clean, and super simple to install. I think it's the best option for a dropper on a DH bike, and for anyone who might be thinking about a dropper but isn't sure how often it will get used.

Gets the job done clean looking & simple to install
Easy to install . with no cables it keeps my single speed handlebar free of cables and clamps. You need to have a high profile seat bottom to rail clearance or the lever doesn't have enough travel to engage the release point to drop the post.

Good Bang for the Buck.
Great seat post for the money. Much better than my stock post, because you don't have to stop and get off your bike to adjust it. Not as good as the high dollar posts you adjust on the fly in the rough. You just need to plan ahead and drop it before it gets too rough.

Works great!
Great seat post for the money. Very little play and looks great. Wide range of adjustment. Lever is made out of plastic polymer, would be trick with an aluminum lever. I installed it on my trail bike and have had no issues.

No-nonsense dropper
I love the simplicity of this dropper post. No cables, no pumping. I've had those options before and my experience was that they didn't last. Plus there is a lot to be said about just putting the seat post in without any installation hassles. If there's a problem, it's easy to take out and go back to the old static seat post, which I carry because of previous experience with higher priced drop posts. For my amateur riding, I prefer the lever and its simplicity.

Derek B on Jan 14, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Not sure of the mechanics ,
But I've had one on a dually for over a year now ride daily up and down some decent hills and change heights frequently just flip the lever up and sit on it to go down ,same thing flip the lever up and stand on pedals above seat till it gets to the height you want
Works for me but I'm not a pro and don't need a handlebar mounted lever
And for the price ,fwaaaaar
Cheers
Is it 385mm length when it's fully open?
A shopper on Apr 5, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes, that is the overall length of the post at full extension.
