I've always wanted to jump on the dropper post wagon bit the price has always been too high for what I wanted to spend. The KS Eten is priced just right for what a dropper post is worth to me. Keep in mind that this is the first dropper I've ever used but I think the only places it's lacking compared to its bigger brothers is weight and only having one bolt to secure the saddle (who cares??? It still offers forward and rear tilt angle). Since this is the only dropper I've ever used, I have no idea how much heavier it is. I can tell you it is heavier than my standard aluminum post that it replaced (duh).

As far as installation goes, it is pretty straight forward aside from the fact that the instructions are almost non-existent. Everything you need to install the post comes with the kit aside from extra wire ties to route the remote cable back to your dropper.

Functionality speaking, I love how the adjustment throughout the 100mm of travel are infinite. Meaning you can position the post at any desired height throughout the travel of the post. Simply push the remote to disengage the post, put weight on your seat, and then depress the remote to lock it into place. Simple and sweet. The post holds firm at any given length you lock it into. There is a little side-to-side play with the saddle and coming from a person that is super picky with seat positon, you can take my thoughts on this to the bank... You can't notice it while you ride! The speed at which the post returns the saddle is fast but not super fast. I've seen a specialized post that can launch things off of it like a catapult. It's nowhere near as fast but still gets your seat back into position in a hury w/out the potential of racking your nuts.

All-in-all you really can't ask for a better post at this price. It's smooth and reliable functionality are all you really need. That combined with its durability in regards to holding up the riders weight are fantastic. I'm an aggressive XC rider that likes to dabble in AM as well. This thing seems to be doing the trick so far. I agree with others that once you go with a dropper, you'll never go back!!!

One last thing, I do wish this post was a tad longer (400mm as opposed to 385mm). Male sure you measure your current post to ensure you'll have enough height past the recommended max height on this product.

I bought this product for my wife's bike. Install wasnt overly complicated. At the hand lever the cable sticks out and is capped off, making it stick out a bit, not the most attractive design. It took a little bit of adjustment of the cable to get it just right, the instructions in the box were pretty vague on setting the tolerance of the cable and weren't correct anyway. After a couple rides the seat began to fall and rise on its own so it took some readjusting,. then again a few weeks later the post had the same symptoms. Since then the post hasnt had any symptoms. The dropper post is pretty slow to drop and rise, at least compared to my Reverb, but that's on the opposite end of the spectrum and price. Now that it has worked consistently I'd say it is a good value, especially at less than half the cost of other dropper posts, but it is definitely not a perfect product.

Does as it should. Easy to set up, cable actuated damper. Slot it in and off you go. Single bolt clamp allows some play in the saddle, but the build quality is excellent.

Comments about KS Eten Remote Seatpost:

You can't beat this unit for the price. Dropping the seat on downhill sections will change your riding experience. It give you the chance to raise the seat higher for the full leg extension on climbs that might have made your overall ride out side of your comfort.

I chose easy and difficult to install. The instructions are a bit vague. If you are mechanically inclined and wrench your own ride you should have little troubles. Cable routing will be your biggest challenge. If your a bike shop guy when you have a flat, you might want to find some help.

Keeping the mechanism lever clean on top of the post will extend its lift and reduce your head aches. Most droppers fail from neglect.

One note of use. I ride on the northeast throughout the winter. 20 degrees and lower the dropper will not lock out. May happen in the lot or 10 minutes in, but it will happen. The guys I ride with have all experienced it. Be prepared with the old post for frozen rides.

Comments about KS Eten Remote Seatpost:

Bought this for my wife after she took a clinic from Lee McCormack. It was a breeze to install, the only thing I had to do was make her press the lever all the way down while I tightened the nut under the seat.

    Pros
    - It is as buttery smooth as my Thompson Elite dropper
    - 100mm of travel is perfect for her (she is 5'6")
    - The front side cable routing is very cleanly out of the way

Cons (not really cons, just mentioning them)
    - "only" 100mm of travel
    - The lever IS NOT compatible with ODI grips (or any grips, for that matter). You will have to make a spot for it, but its the perfect time for you to go 1x anyway... right?
    - There is only one bolt holding the seat on, meaning it your seat will not have a tilt adjustment. Not a con, it was perfectly level for my install... just worth mentioning.

Again, I run a Thompson Elite dropper and I wouldnt hesitate to get a KS Eten as my next one. Great lever feel, smooth action, raises nice and easy, and the price is perfect.

Comments about KS Eten Remote Seatpost:

This is a great product for the price. It's a little on the heavy side but it's so inexpensive there has to be a trade off somewhere. I've had it out a few times now and it works great for the most part. I have had one problem. The coupling where the wire goes into the remote on the handle bar broke almost immediately. It's a very weak plastic so be mindful of that. Sometimes the wire doesn't sit as securely as it should which makes the dropper post difficult to get into the full "up" position. I would recommend once it is installed only try to move the positioning of it when the handle bar tightening screw is completely loose. I easily fixed the problem with a little electric tape. Other than that I have had no problems and am really enjoying the dropper post.

Comments about KS Eten Remote Seatpost:

This is the only dropper i have owned, but I have been more than pleased with it. For less than $150 on this site it's almost unbelievable that it's worked so well. The dropping action is smooth, the rebound is crisp and even has that satisfying "thunk" that so many look for. Another huge plus is that it isn't notched, like the command post and others, so it has infinite positions along the travel. I also bought the southpaw lever that KS offers and really like the position of it on the cockpit much more than the stock lever. The few negatives on this post are the weight and questionable durability. It's fairly heavy. My first eTen (one I tried out as a used part, don't know how much use I t saw before I got it) didn't have the solid rebound the new one has. It was a little sluggish and sounded like it had a leak. All in all, I couldn't be happier with a "budget" component like this. No doubt I'll go back to a KS product when I decide to upgrade

The post is useful for those wanting the extra space while biking. It was difficult to install and the instructions where junk. The clamp broke when tightening down. I also lost the cable bolt during a ride and had to jerry rig something to work. I mean for less than half the price its hard to beat but don't expect this to work flawlessly or be installed easily.

Easy to install, a little tricky to set up. Make sure you follow the instructions or you'll get a little slow decrease in seat height.

I can't really say enough about this dropper. So smooth, adjusts on the fly. Comes back up at a good pace. No problems yet after the first ride. I'll update after a few months of riding this summer.

For the money it is difficult to beat.

I was the last hold out in our tribe for purchasing a dropper seat post. All the other knuckleheads purchased bikes with them so I had to make the extra effort. I finally made the leap after talking with a much younger and aggressor rider who suggested the KS Eten. His reasoning, its durable, its reasonably priced and it works. Directions lacking I was able to figure out the install. Took it up to Snow Summit and simply put it took my riding to another level. I love it!!!
