KS Lev 27.2mm Seatpost

KS LEV 27.2mm Seatpost

In the world of modern all-mountain riding, an adjustable seat post is an invaluable upgrade that can significantly affect your ride quality. The Kind Shock LEV features 100mm of travel to keep you in the right position for any terrain.

  • Superlight air/oil height adjustable seatpost, about 100 grams lighter than other KS posts (460g)
  • Stationary remote cable routing, locates housing stop below the center collar
  • Housing stop rotates 360 degrees around the post for custom cable routing options
  • Locks anywhere in vertical range (which means the post will not extend when lifting the bike by the saddle)
  • 2-bolt micro-adjustable seat rail clamp, angled bolts increase clamp strength
  • Remote features a carbon fiber remote handlebar release lever, inline barrel adjuster and braided cables (ODI Lock-On compatible)

WOW! I didn't know i needed one....
Bike was pretty much the way I wanted it already. I'd seen these and hear how everyone who gets them loves them. Well, count me in too. I've put a bunch of miles on mine and the enthusiasm has not faded one bit. If you are like me and think you might like one. Do yourself a favor and go for it.

The remote lever that works with the lock-on grips makes for a clean cockpit. Also the cable attaches to the middle of the post so it doesn't go up and down with the seat. I'm big rider at 200 lbs and no reliability issue so far.

Great addition to my little hardtail
I;d read just how good dropper posts were and ive been really happy with this one. It works great, looks great. Love how you can adjust the position to any point so it can be high for road and then a little lower for trails and then right down out of the way for steep sections and jumps.

it was a little fiddly to install, and while the handlebar shifter is great with the way it acts as a lock on for ODI grips, I do find it gets in the way of my front gear shifter a bit. This wouldn't be an issue with any 1xX bikes though.

Sticks
I have this seat post for four rides and now it sticks and don't fully return up until I pull it with my hand. I barely torque the seat clamp to test it but still sticks. Side to side play is also getting worst. I am totally done with it and this thing is going back.

Changed my bike
Have been riding with this post for a bit now, and I'm amazed at how it changed my riding for the better. First time I tried it out (across my lawn) I could already tell it was going to be good.
I really like the remote's size and shape- good at staying out of the way and fitting in smaller spaces. The post actuates a little slower than others I have seen, but this is a good thing in my opinion, as I'm not a fan of having certain areas tenderized.
I was pleasantly surprised that the post was all black- the newest version- Jenson ought to put an updated picture on their site.
Otherwise, I can't comment on reliability or longevity of the post, as I've only been using it for a few weeks. I will say that it's a good idea to have your LBS install the post- cost me about $20 but I'll bet it saved me a load of frustration.
All in all a great product as far as I can tell. It's a little spendy, but it does what it is supposed to do, and well.

Is the material on this carbon?
Andy I on May 26, 2017
BEST ANSWER: No, aluminum I believe, but definitely not carbon.
How much total fully extended height does the post have, not travel - that's 100mm - asking about the distance from the bottom of the collar at the seatpost clamp to the seat rail clamp?
A shopper on Apr 9, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Total length is 411mm, spec from the Mfg.
What is the distance from the 'min inserted line' to the seat frame? Or is that max distance?
Nick on Sep 7, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The min insert line tells you how much of the post must be in the frame. So from the line down must be inserted into the frame.
