This helmet is very nice and very well priced. The biggest reason I got this helmet were the great reviews it got in some of the magazines and the fact that it has a bug screen built in. There are a lot of gnats and things in the spring and summer near the river that I ride along. It nice not having to stop and pick bugs out of my hair.

I purchased this helmet because of Kali's lower density foam liner. Apparently this foam offers better impact protection in the event of a crash.
I also like the unique graphics on the blue helmet and the extended protection offered by a "mountain" helmet-although 80% of my riding is on road. Overall, a very nice design and comfortable helmet.
I do have 2 very minor issues with the helmet [or I would have given it a 5 star rating]. First, The liner pad covers 2 of the upper vents. Maybe not a big deal, unless you live in a climate where you need all the ventilation you can get. However, it would be easy enough to cut this part of the pad away.
I also had an issue with sizing. I purchased the M/L helmet, but the twist lock adjustment doesn't really adjust down to my medium size head. I wanted a tighter fit so I put small foam blocks under the pads and now the adjustment is great. Unless you are at the very upper range of medium I would probably suggest buying the S/M helmet.
Overall, this is a really nice helmet at a very reasonable price. The design, graphics, removable visor and foam liner make this helmet an umbeatable value. Too bad more folks haven't heard about the Kali brand.

Ordered the S/M size. Tried to adjust it down to fit and it would not go small enough. I wear 7 1/8. Called cust. service and asked if they could look at another one to check for travel in the headband. No. I was told my head is too small for the Kali Helmets. I returned it, got refunded, paid the shipping, and went to the LBS and bought a Specialized Align. This was a complete waste of time and money. If you wear anything smaller than 7 3/8 you will not fit in this helmet.

If you've never heard of this brand of helmet, don't let unfamilarity affect your decision to try it. I was pleasantly surprised when I first saw and tried the Kali Chakra Plus. This helmet looked great and was comfortable from the first time I put it on my head. It was like they used my head for the molding process! The construction quality, weight, and features are also better than one would expect for a helmet in this price range. I use mine mainly for mountain biking and have had no issues with the adjustment system loosening during rides. Great buy!!

This helmet is quite nice but the tightening mechanism sucks. Used it for two short rides and when the trail got bumpy the helmet loosens. I did not feel safe because of that so I'm taking it back today.
